Hi Jigzyy,

By Stage 1, do you mean just the completeness check or the ministerial instructions(which includes cap count and points eligibility) check as well.
I was curious because I am also a may 15th applicant and was just wondering that cap is also checked as part of stage 1 or not.

Kindly share your thoughts.

Stage 1 is just completeness check. Until official 300 is not announced for a category, they will always forward the application to the next MI stage. Once official, they might not even bother checking it, and return it back.

IF THE VISA OFFICE IN MY COUNTRY IS CLOSED DUE TO SOME LOCAL DISTURBANCES .. SO WILL THE FILE BE PROCESSED AT CANADA VISA OFFICE?

if there's some changes in mailing address or child birth after PER when & where will these updates send ?

thx jigzyy

For now, they may hold the application until it gets stabled, IF it takes longer, they may forward your application to an alternate office and update you.

For the updates, you need to wait until file is transferred.

I believe its an "Anxiety" that is causing them to register ..LOL ,

I am also calling now(in about 10min they will answer---I chose "worker" not "PR") and any advice from the successful callers is much appreciated !
Thank you!

Civeng, What was your calling path? ? ? print here....
Is it....
English...........= 1
Foreign Affairs.= 1
Immigration.....= 2
Call Transfer......
English...........= 1
Status...........= 2
PR Card..........= 2....> "Worker" instead of PR , Right? ? Anyone wanna try there luck? ? ?

This lack of a cap update is interesting- cant understand it. For example someone in 2263 has gotten their PER yet the cap count is reflecting none complete.

Hope CIC can catch up soon for the sake of those who might not want to waste their time.

The CAP update page is serving an opposite purpose. It should be used to inform people about the updates, so that people don't have to guess, and there is less confusion. But it is fueling confusion and guesswork. It would have been better if this page didn't exist at all. TOTAL BULL$#!~

To know the status of your application by calling cic
call 0016139444000
select 1 for English
then 1 for foreign affair
2 for immigration
call is being transferred to cic
then 1 for English
2 for status
1 for PR
8 digit client id number will be asked
listen the request 3 times without entering client id number
then the call is automatically transferred to an agent
agent will ask information about last name, first name, date of birth, application received date etc
then agent will check in the system and shall give feedback

THIS IS STRANGE..!!!

So I applied through a law office in Canada. My application was received by CIO on 5/9/13. Law Office says they have not received any PER email for my case from CIO yet. They have got the CC charge but cannot confirm if it was for my case since they use the same card for all their clients.

I called the 613-944-4000 number today and got transferred to immigration. The lady their was very helpful. She was able to pull my UCI# from my name and DOB but the only information she is able to see is that my application was received on May 9th. Nothing else. No CC charge or PER or NER.. Nothing...

Anyone in similar situation???
