Many of the Visa Offices now "claim" to be back in business. You can visit the Facebook Page for the relevant VO and see them fielding answers to this very question. The New Delhi VO says they are open for business.

Does anyone has any update on CIC strike? Is it resolved or still going on?

Hello Everyone.
Much appreciate the efforts put in by admin team and participants by sharing the information here on this blog.
I have noticed that many are struggling to find an answer through the phone and they are being re-directed to send an email to CIO.

Here is some info. Call at the same number and use the same options as described in previous posts.
Before they advise you to email CIO, request them if they can see any details in their system if you provide them with your last name, first name details, birthdte and address on application.
They should be able to answer that question without any reservations.If client ID/File number assigned, they should be able to provide that readily.

Just had a pretty stressful conversation with CIC (but at least they gave me some info). Our application was received at 10:45am on 10 May (2174) and at this point in time it is not yet in progress (ie there is no file yet). This stresses me out as haven't other people from 10 May heard at least about cc charges etc?

In slightly good news I did get my UCI but this is only because I used to be a PR in Canada when I was little (I very VERY stupidly did not get passport before moving back to UK!) so I can now track our progress (if there ever is any!) online using this but at this stage I am just very concerned that there has been some stupid error in our application so it is on the way back or it has been dropped behind a desk somewhere in nova scotia....

Argh.

Can you exactly tell what did you say and she replied? Our files are in process since last Thursday. May be different persons are dealing different files, even that received at the same time.

Ok my friends, I just called CIC and it seems my application is through, as it's complete and no missing documents. Though I'm not raising my expectations yet.

I can't deny that I do agree with what you said now in this post.

I know, what a waste of gorgeous trees we have on our lovely planet, eh?

Can you tell how are you certain. I am actually trying to match the conversation and the information they have provided with mine, just to calm myself
