Thanks both of you (Vats and Aceim) for you quick reply

Need some more info.
I sent my documents to WES for ECA on 31st may 2013 and paid $316.40 including Express Service. On 4th jun 2013 status changed to "Documents received - review in progress". Till now the status remains same.
How long it will take to complete my evaluation? Please share your experience if you gone through this time taking procedure of WES.

NS is a marvelous place... warmest province after BC, in fact Halifax is warmer than Toronto. The economy seems to be improving esp. in next years. Most important of all, Amazing people, simply amazing. Hmmm, oh did I already mention gorg girl by the way? hahaha :)

Good to know. I want to go to Alberta because I'm from the Oil & Gas Industry, therefore I have more chances to find a job there. My wife is a social worker but she wants to be a chef in Canada, so the best places for gastronomy related studies are Vancouver and Toronto. Perhaps a third place can tie us up.

Did you send the UNIVERSITY STAMPED marksheets as well through your university? Even though if you have sent documents from your end, it will show DOCUMENTS received. However, they will not evaluate your documents until all documents are received from your end and also from your University. My friends got their ECA done through EXPRESS Service and it was done in 3-4 days of receipt at their end. Please note that this 3-4 days is from the day the status of ECA changes from DOCUMENTS ACCEPTED to EVALUATION IN PROGRESS.

Hope this input would be helpful.

Cheers,

:) Binu Abraham :)

BTW CES are very unprofessional to deal with for an ECA. It took 6 weeks to get to me.

Finally heard from Parcelforce regarding their inability to deliver to CIC on time. No joy.
Here is what they said:

The Global Express service delivery speeds are dependent on both the sending and
delivery postcodes; on this occasion the sending postcode falls into Zone B, giving
an expected delivery date of 24/05/2013. As such, the parcel was delivered on the
correct date for the service.

It doesn't make any sense as I sent via their depot on 20th.
Next day service? bah humbug!

To me it took >30 days for WES to get it all figured out. If you're in doubt and it seems that they are waiting for something - CALL, because they are not too keen on speeding things up by themselves. They messed up my application so thought they are expecting some more papers while they actually had all their needed. And they would just keep waiting for who knows how much more if I didn't call almost daily and helping them figuring out stuff.
Only when you see EVALUATE IN PROGRESS as your status that will mean they are actually evaluating and per their site - it should take 7 days max.

But in real life it takes more. When they have too much work, they simply call your University and then wait for its response, which gets them another week to do other cases.
So - call and call. You'll probably have to wait an hour in the queue - but that's why we have Skype.

If you don't mind, may I know your bank who offered this kind of option to you?

My card is issued by a Japanese company, Mitsubishi UFJ NICOS.
Though the country and company are different from yours, I believe their system and policy are almost the same.
Please don't give up!

Ok, this is my take on the CC's currently charged. All of the cases we have heard about (1978bubun, pharmacistfarhan, 2 of huang's acquaintances) are either from CPP-O or London. I don't know if pharmacistfarhan is UK based or one of the other countries under this visa office. But even if you just look at CPP-O (USA), does it mean that it is quicker for CIC to process apps which have Western education or western experience? I don't know but it could be the case. Therefore, could I pls ask the admins to add 3 extra columns in the spreadsheet:

  • Country of residence
  • Country of education
  • Country of experience
That way we will be able to tell a trend. I know I may be asking a lot because everyone pretty much needs to add their details but I think it will be helpful in the long run. Pls admins - lets try to add this. Thank you.

Parcelforce should be called parcelfarce! If I knew better, I would have never used them. It is very likely that I will not make the cap because of them...

Nirmal did you send your application from usa? the DD' in USA will get processed a lot faster than DD's in india.
You had sent your applicaton on the 5th i .e the sunday ( india ). which courier was working then?

My DD is from Canada (created by lawyers) and my application reached on 8th of May.
I am checking with them on whether it is cashed or not. I have not receive a reply yet from lawyers. They asked me not to worry unnecessary and said they will update me as soon as they hear from CIC.
