Yea I wouldn't be too optimistic.

They (CIC) have a record of being slow on updating their website. Also, if you look at the bottom right corner of the page: cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp it's clearly mentioned "Date Modified:2013-05-03" which is quite odd since the registration opened on the 4th.

From looking at the past years and using a little common sense, you need to understand that millions of people around the world would submit their applications on the opening date since the requirements were announced about 2 weeks earlier to that date.

And the NOC categories 2147 and 2174 would obviously be the first to meet their maximum allowed capacity since the majority of Indians worldwide (not just in India) would have applied to those very 2 categories.

Should we think that none of our forum members are included in the cap count so far as i did not find anyone's application reach CIC on May6th or 7th on the spreadsheet? Lots to speculate.....huh...

Pls have a look , it says date modified as 05-03 at the bottom.. How is this possible?

Date Modified:2013-05-03

If we take 26 for the first day, now assuming at least 10 times more from day 2,now multiplying it by 10 times (per day) = 260.
so 260 times 32 days since the start ( excluding saturday and sunday where they can't accept a Mail ) = 8320.

its only my guess, it can be more or less.....

Absolutely this looks quite close to what the situation appears.

As we all think that this update is for the applications received before the 8th of May, that makes sense as this is supposed to be the applications charged already before today and it seems that only today they started to charge the applications received by the 8th of May.

Guys applying for NOCs 1112, 2147 and 2174 ... our fingers are crossed for you guys, these NOCs are hotter even than we thought!!

congrats farhan :D

May be before May 8th, as Farhan (NOC 2131) - App recieved, 8th May- is charged. But the count for NOC2131 is 0.

Probably this is the case and that means we gonna find strange updating numbers later!! let's hope the majority here can reach the cap of their NOCs!

I second this.....The update is way too vague at the moment. Unless they publish more figures and a realistic date, say Apps received up to 17th May, nothing can be truly anticipated from the update.

Lot of luck required here.
Let's all hope for the best!!

:D

guys,

understand the process. When the file is being checked there are also lots of sub-processes for which sometime supervisor or second officer permission or look is required in some cases. This could change the sequence in which we will see the news from different people. Some of us who have sent earlier might get their news a little later than we are expecting.

Also seeing the cap update , for sure some of the hot categories the multiplier factor in terms of global v our forum is quite high. There were 26 files processed but from our forum only two members got the news. So you can imagine the status of those who sent late after two weeks.

All said but remember do not forget to include your luck into this equation.

Best of luck to everyone. ;D ;D

Someone called the Customer Service Center earlier and was told that CIC is only going to update once the 5000 apps are received, which clearly is not the case anymore.

Hi Islandbabe....

Tried updating the sheet with missing info.... but couldn't..... pls gimme the password... is it khul ja sim sim.... ;)

Cheers...
Harry

The published numbers aren't complete in all terms as there are other NOCs (not mentioned in the update) whose app also got submitted around the same time to be eligible to be published in the update; 0211 for example.

It's a trick! CIC rolled a dice to cut down on flooding queries from around the world assuming that this should keep people stick-ied to the update page instead of giving calls. And to show to Mr. JK, "Sir, even though we are flooded with plentiful of apps from around the world, people sending missing documents every now and then and poking our @## with CAP update telephonic queries and (wishpers even though we and our international counterparts are underpaid), we managed to check a few apps to completeness and sir we published our first update and we won't be lazy this time around like those previous years."

Silly trick.....to no real benefit to any of us as of now ! But good to see they really charged a couple CCs.

Successful payment is part of complete package. Unless they charge a CC they can not say the package is complete. So that is the reason we see CC's and Update on the same day. It doesn't matter what is the cap count on the site, it is only considering the apps reached on first couple of days anyways.
