Off-topic story:

Sometimes the person who delivers mails is lady and, oh boy, I have a huge crush on her... super gorg! I guess I should mail something to myself everyday just to see her! :D
would be even better if you mail yourself a "registered letter" everyday... as the postman is also required to take a signature from the person receiving it ;) ::)

UPDATE FROM CIC
I mailed my original application for FSW on May 4th (recd by CIC on May 8th)but by the end of that day, I realized that the Generic app was updated. So, I filled the new Generic form and added a cover letter and mailed only these 2 things to CIC on May 7th, which was recd on May 13th.
Today, I received back my updated Generic form stating that - "CIC has not received any new application from you and hence this application is returned."
Not sure, if this is a good thing or bad, but thought of updating the forum folks.

Hey mate..Good to here from you.. that is no worry at your part....... Now as info provided by you and marta... CIC is working like a speed of sloth.... at 30th-May they were at application of 6th MAy... And as per your letter at 10th-June they are checking application received at 13thMAy......Woooh too slow.... but indeed they are working at minimum level...

So in 11 days they move for 7 days.... so by this logic at present they are checking application receive on 18th MAys... OMG mine was received at 22nd may.... its make my heart beats running like cheetah speed... :o :o :o

18 May and 19 May were Saturday and Sunday respectively, 20 May was Holiday. Probably they are now checking applications received on 21 May.

good news that we are slowly receiving updates from CIO but I fail to understand how come no one had thei CC charged...Isn't this in step 1=if you have a complete application they charge the CC ??? Am I missing something?

They are... but as per news CIC ensure minimum level of work ..... so it might possible that we are receiving such updates on document check only as they have not initiated 2 stage of verification....

ooops... you make it much faster man..21st... 22nd..... ??? ??? ??? ???..just one/two days left for my application.... :'( :'(

I have a serious question guys..

I sent my application with translated Birth certificate and National ID.

The translator sealed together my translation along with the copy of Birth certificate with his stamp on it. (he did the same for national ID)

That is all what I sent to CIC, as far as the notarised copy of both is concerned, I didn't send it seperately. I presumed that the sealed copy with translator stamp would be sufficent.

Now, I have a feeling that I should have notarised or certified the copies of both from Canadian Embassy. What do the seniors have to say about this...

Should I send the certified copies now or wait for the application to be returned (just because of this)! or CIC might accept it the way I sent and no need to worry so much?

Pls help me..I am going nuts!

Thanks for the prompt response rawdah. how do generally people get confirmation from CIC? do they receive any email from CIC?

And any tentative timelines for receiving response from CIC?

Thanks,
Nik

The two applicants mentioned earlier received communication from cic by mail.
