UPDATE FROM CIC
I mailed my original application for FSW on May 4th (recd by CIC on May 8th)but by the end of that day, I realized that the Generic app was updated. So, I filled the new Generic form and added a cover letter and mailed only these 2 things to CIC on May 7th, which was recd on May 13th.
Today, I received back my updated Generic form stating that - "CIC has not received any new application from you and hence this application is returned."

Not sure, if this is a good thing or bad, but thought of updating the forum folks.

Thanks for the update. I don't think there is anything to worry about here. They are just returning the new generic form as it is surplus to their needs. The old generic form (12-2012) and the new one (04-2012) are the same apart from the footer. Therefore, since you did not furnish them with a fresh application with all supporting documents, they understood that the old application package was the one to consider. Based on this, I would also think that your application made it through the cap. Good luck and keep us updated...

Also, would you be able to upload the documents your received from CIC? Not your generic form but the other one stating why it was returned. We wanted to understand things like date, who signed it, what was content etc etc. Thanks a lot.

Good thing is that means CIC has processed the application send on or before may 13rd. Bad thing is that they still did not go to 2nd process, so no record in their system for ur application yet. In my understanding if u pass the 2nd selection they will assign u a code---thus ur file can be easily found in their computer. From ur mails back, looks like they cannot find ur original file, so I guess this means they did not start 2nd process yet. And it means, still long way ahead before anybody get their CC charged.

Suggest u upload ur info just as Marta did so that ppl here understand ur case more precisely.

This is a good news Sachin. thumbs and all 10 fingers up for you dude. I have a feeling that I've made through the cap and 1st stage too. :-*

Off-topic story: The other day, I was home and I've figured mailman comes around 2pm, so before him stepping up the doorstep, I jumped out and noticed he has a big package and i was like "Oh my, I'm screwed! " he said, "No boy, it's not yours." and I said "Phew awesome"
Sometimes the person who delivers mails is lady and, oh boy, I have a huge crush on her... super gorg! I guess I should mail something to myself everyday just to see her!

Well, it seems we're not about anything in this thread, so why not love too? Just to change the taste of this thread a lil bit

Congrats sachin it seems that your application made it through the cap as cic did not return your earlier application. Also it shall be a big relief to all those who sent old generic application form as now they have nothing to worry about.

This is definitely good news for Sachin and all those people who sent their application with old generic forms.

Three things come to my mind.

1. CIO is working and they had reached May 13th applications by June 10th. so by this time we can guess they might have covered applications till May 17-18th. Wild guess.

2. Early birds (first week applications mainly) most likely cleared step 1. i.e. application completeness. Although mind you it took 7 days for CIC doc to reach to neighboring country so it might take longer in Europe, ME and Asia.

3. Some early birds had filled old schedule 3 like Marta but we did not hear anything from them about their application is returned or not. this is little confusing.

All in All happy to see some movement from CIO. Hope to hear more good news soon.
