Arrived at Sort Facility NOVA SCOTIA AREA - CANADA NOVA SCOTIA AREA, NS - CANADA means it has arrived in Halifax. from here it will take one day to deliver at CIC Sydney
Oh they took 9days that is also in tough time

Just thinking that, if this week passes smoothly, without any updates from mates about "returning of application" then it means that :

"Application received b/w 6th May - 17th May, were correct (including all forms & documents) & have cleared the preliminary stage." :P

Marta's long awaited reply is much appreciated that "Yes, they do accept the old generic form"

I think we discussed this thing on 20 pages at least.

So, I believe that:

Forms downloaded & filled BEFORE May 4th are not acceptable.
Forms downloaded & filled ON OR AFTER May, 4th will be acceptable, whether they are modified later.

But Why others (who have submitted b/w 6th - 10th) have not contacted by CIO? They should receive an acknowledgement email from CIO at least. It means that they are only contacting those, who have submitted the old forms (Forms before 4th May).
Those who have submitted apps b/w 8th to 10th May, need to check their CC & DD and update us, so that we can control our anxiety ;)

You should ask for a refund...9 days is just ridiculous!

our consultant advised 4-6 weeks after sending the application, is when we can expect to hear about our app progression from CIO
has anyone else been advised the same from their consultants/lawyers

Also does anyone know how to dial the CIO call centre 1 888 242‑2100 from outside Canada??

Same here. I too contacted my consultant couple of times to confirm if he has sent my application with current forms - he smiled on the phone and politely said - Nirmal, you are my 10000th client and first for 2013 FSW and I have ensured that your file is sent with latest forms - your application is a complete application from my view point. After insisting he asked one of his manager to cross verify (he has complete photocopy of my file he had sent to CIC) and with God grace manager noded his head.

On timelines, he is expecting some updates from CIC by end of this month.

Fingers crossed and trusting my consultant - afterall he is ICCRC certified consultant.

Well Yes and No. I read in the forum that few more guys have filled up old schedule 3 form so they will also get their app back. its just matter of time based on their location to get it back. And it looks to me that at this time CIC is more keen to return incomplete applications rather processing to next stage so I guess we would hear some more news about app being returned than CC being charged during this week.

Analyst - Please be careful.. We care about our heart - :)

I was about to bang my bank --

What about Applications received after 17th May with old Document checklist (the one requiring spouse educational documents). Will it clear the preliminary stage?

Actually, it doesn't mean anything. Because you cannot predict number of applications processed by CIC per day :)

Totally understood Analyst...Thank you for keeping us updated.

So a cap update would be great for today .....I'll be away for a few hours, hopefully when I am back I will see some progress/good news.

No progress & no good news.. seems years have passed since I have submitted my application and it is merely 33 days ~~ Cant imagine the patience displayed by applicants applied in 2008-2010 without hearing anything from CIC for so many years and their applications were finally returned because of incompetency of CIC operations. uff..

Wishing best of luck to all. May God bless all to do well in their lives wherever they are..

hi everyone. I've got some tricky questions. I'm a phd student in canada and i'm staying here with student visa and I've also job experiences in 2147 and 2174 . my supervisor is the manager of a company and has employed some of his students before. could you tell me if it's possible to ask him to give a job offer? is the job offer something special and it needs to be certified somewhere? or he can just simply write a job offer letter for me? does is need to be full time or a part time job is ok?
FYI, I have a good funding for my phd

islandbabe said:
WOW, arash, so you basically fit all three categories!!! If I were you I would forget about the FSW 2013 2147 & 2174 categories as I am sure these caps have been filled already. You are then left with applying under the PHD stream....this is if you have completed at least 2 years already or you can go for the arranged employment option. Yes your boss would need to do quite a few things in oder to give you a job offer. There are certain criteria's that must be met, but this may be the fastest option available to you right now.

See link below on getting a LMO (arranged Employment and Phd requirements.

2147 and 2174 are hot NOC. You are advised not to enter the game now for these NOC otherwise it is quite likely you may lose.

I have been here for 5 months and i really can't wait 2 years for phd stream for some reasons. please advise me that what should i do? why you say don't apply for FSW? i need a fast way to apply for PR and i don't have too much money. What are the other ways that i could apply for them with this situation? I read the link you gave, and there in here:
cic.gc.ca/english/work/apply-who-permit.asp
they said Academics and students don't need LMO, so does it mean that i just need a singed form by my supervisor for the job offer? should it be a full time or part time offer?
I don't know if my supervisor do that for me or not, i just want to see if it's possible and then try it. if you have any question please ask.
