If this was the case, CIC would have already raised the passing marks...Plenty of applicants have scored well above 75+ points but CIC maintained the passing score as 67, which means they are not interested in more points than 67 but will consider only those who fall within the cap...

They will first open the application on first come first serve basis and check for the completeness without counting it towards the sub-cap. Once the completeness is passed, it is than considered in the cap [if cap is <= 300].

If somehow, the application gets rejected in the Credit Card / DD charging stage or eligibility stage, it'll be moved out of the cap, and new will enter until 300 is achieved again.

They'll keep few of the files with them unless they are sure that 300 is full. Than they'll start to return it.

hey state bank of India is proving DD with the validity of 6 months. u just go to any forex branch of SBI and show them the document checklist showing the 6 months validity.. as a proof they ask for passport and copy of it. they may ask for pancard copy also . they give you one slip to fill and ask you for the payment( by cheque or cash).. the procedure will hardly take 15 min... not more than this.. and u will get DD..
so go ahead .. best of luckk.

Hi Everyone,

I went to almost every bank in the city and SBI main forex branch at parliament street today to get the DD with 6 month validity.

A big question mark here. The staff there categorically told me that the DD shall only be valid for 3 months. They say that "yes" there is no mention of expiry date on forex DD's they issue but they are valid for only 3 months .. It's the same with cheques as well.

The lady there mentioned that many people have got DD's issued for Canada Immigration but no one asked for 6 month validity. Had it been asked for, it is very clear that if the DD is presented after 3 months of issue, it will be declined.

My question to people from India who have submitted DD's.... DID YOU CHECK FOR VALIDITY OF DD'S ISSUED PLEASE ??? it may be a big problem if the CIC takes too long (read more than 3 months) to process the applications...

Hi, I would like to ask what do you mean by DD charging stage or “Fee Encashed” column in the tracker?

This is the date on which CIC charges your credit card or en-cashes your DD for the FSWP application fee, which means your application has passed the completeness checks...all relevant documents forms are present and signed. And the file can then be assessed for points (67) etc.

Thanks for the quick reply. But my bank has already debited the amount from my account after giving me the demand draft I requested for the application fee. If this is my case, what will I monitor next? ..confused..

Actually most of us who has sent DD might not know when it got cashed. Few of the banks gets notification, while others don't. We'll write approximate date by comparing other members on the forum.

Thank you guys for the updates, it is now clear to me. To tell you, for few days ago, i was thinking how come others are monitoring their account for the encashment of the DD and I dont know how to check mine. Well, I’ll just wait patiently with faith for the PER. :) God bless us all.

Hi,

I have confusion regarding the Primary Occupation to be mentioned in the form imm0008_3e. By education I am a Chemical Engineer but have working experience of Chemical Safety Engineer and Plant Construction Safety Engineer. So in the form, should i write Chemical Engineer (NOC 2134) as the Primary Occupation or my actual work designations (Chemical Safety Engineer or Plant Construction Safety Engineer)? Help needed.

Hi,
People with spouses who applied for fsw. Please suggest me that do we need to take single dd or two individual dd for one applicant and one for spouse.

1 DD for a value of $1100 CAD, OR you can either pay $550 with CC & $550 with DD, or a lum sum of $1100 from CC. Which ever suits you.

Single DD will do
