As what i observed, they are also considering the School where you had earned your certificate. At what school in the Philippines you are @ ece24544. I am from Philippines and they gave me 3 years diploma also. This is only my personal observation from the other forums wherein same topic has been brought out.

As per CIC website:-
Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma for a program of three years or longer, or equal -21
So, u will get 21 points.

Hi Bjajbej,

While we are all waiting for updates regarding application count from CIC, we just want to ask if anyone knows whether the actual points will matter or it's just same chances for everyone with points above 67?

TIA!

Hi,
I have a ittle confusion regarding point for Work Ex..I have around 5.9 years of work ex (will be completing 6 years on 02 July 2013), will I be getting 13 points or 15 points????
CIC site states
4-5 years -->13 points
6 or more years--> 15 points
But it does not say anything for those who have work ex between 5 & 6....so confusing...

Its your lucky moment if they round off to the nearest figure.

Based from the other forums, same topic was brought up and some concluded that there is always a chance of weighing the scores of the applicants. Of course the higher the heavier as per them, but this isn't official it is just speculations.

yeah because right now everyone's main goal is to make it to the 300 cap! I'm just wondering if the actual score will be a deal breaker somewhere...

Don't think so..! On the CIC website it is clearly stated that the selection will be first come first serve.

OK... so somehow it's leaning to the argument that the actual score is no longer important after you make it into the first 300 for your occupation. I mean as long as you have a good margin from 67 in case CIC deviates a little from your assumptions.

If this was the case, CIC would have already raised the passing marks...Plenty of applicants have scored well above 75+ points but CIC maintained the passing score as 67, which means they are not interested in more points than 67 but will consider only those who fall within the cap...
