Yes, as per the document checklist, the original IELTS TRF shall be put in order and without any envelope. If sent directly to CIC by IELTS through Courier/Post, then a covering letter with the dispatch details and TRF number (if possible photocopy of the TRF will do).

I don't think it has to be a sealed envelop. In my case I requested 3 additional TRF's and all of them were in a single envelop. How am i supposed to send to CIC in a sealed envelop?

I was just teasing I'm cool man. Worse thing I'll resubmit. The nice guy at CIC CS is now looking what else can be done in my case. I'll update immediately.

Well, thanks all of you for providing this info.

I was more concerned about the bad news Idoit gave us today. I think CIC should accept there clerical mistake and put his file back in process.

So the guy at CIC Call centre wasn't really helpful. You know "Oh, I'm sorry" conversation.
I am not an idealistic person but want to criticize some of the laws we have. So I asked CIC to make a note that I did care about this issue and called them TODAY as soon as I got the package returned and the guy said "Sir, I'm sorry we're not allowed to do that!" Really, so recording conversations is always there to be used against clients NOT the authority!

Guys, I dont want to make it an IELTS thread and I have really accepted the fact that they must be providing one Black and White copy of the TRF at some places.

But this is next to impossible, my friend you cannot order additional TRF's. There are only 2 organizations in the world to conduct IELTS exam. They have no exception for any particular country. They have clearly mentioned the following:-

'When will I receive my test results?'

'Your Test Report Form will be posted to you 13 days after your test date. Some test centres also provide SMS alerts and an Online Results Service. Keep your Test Report Form in a secure place as you only receive one copy.'


'What if I lose my Test Report Form?'

'Test Report Forms are valid for two years. Copies cannot be sent to candidates but IELTS will forward a Test Report Form to your relevant institution or embassy. Up to five copies will be sent free of charge. Additional copies will incur a small administration charge. Talk to your test centre for further details.'

It is official because it is original. you don't always send official transcripts, and that can be a photocopy as well (which they generally ask you to get notarized)

@idoit - Just got online to check last minute updates before retiring to bed and I learned about your sad news. Read through all the previous 5-6 pages in the hope that finally you'ld say 'I's just kidding' towards the end. I'm not yet able to digest that it actually happened. I don't even know what I should write; I've got no words. :'( :'( :'(
If such is the case, it can happen to anyone. A doc goes missing and one more dream shattered. But I hope, as Islandbabe said, you still have a better life ahead being there itself and better opportunities if you try them in parallel.

Did you get the entire package back? If so, send it with new IELTS as you have it. Meantime try to sort things out with CIC. All the best!

Oh Finally I was able to reach CIC and was able to get some update as well. She was certainly a very nice lady to give me information about my file.

While nothing is showing into her system about my file, she confidently told me that VO has not started processing your file.
but she did tell me that CIO updated on June 19th in the system that they have received my file on May 8th.
She also told me that if your file was being returned then she would find details on her system.
Also, I forgot to mention my UCI number when I sent my file but it seems CIO was able to verify that and they have linked my UCI with this application as she was able to tell me the same.

Hope my news will help lot others to get some prospective about their files too.

Now the nice lady told me to have patience and soon VO will check my file. At least my weekend will be peaceful after lot of anxiety.

I can have as many as 3 copies made in IELTS Canada here in Halifax.

idoit, so sorry to hear this... I hope you'll sort it out somehow.
The worse thing is a man can't possibly have a "proof" that he sent some document, except a court sworn witness who saw him put it in or something. Which is ridiculous of course.
You can have copies - but again, that doesn't mean a thing.

BTW, in Serbia I get only one copy of IELTS. And I passed it twice so far.
