Well said SNRAO, ive been checking videos on youtube of Calgary winter, general look and feel of city, traffic, SUV's to buy, important things and landmarks for new immigrants etc...its the only way to beat this sinking feeling. And i was also looking at some houses for sale. :)

Amazing dear iktheone :), to me watching all those videos give sinking feeling that we could be part of this much sooner if the process was completed in less time. BTW, have not received DM yet, was hoping to get it somewhere by 24th March - hence had targeted visa date of 5th April in my timeline, considering a 10 day delivery time; would hate to move the visa date ahead now :( .

Guys,
Could you please provide the URL's of those videos that you are watching.

Hi

Any conclusion on the average time between dd encashment and DM for NDVO.
Assuming DD encashment today, when can I expect the DM. The reason I am asking is that I need my passport in 3Rd week of March. Is it practical to assume that I may receive my passport in 3weeks from now.

Thanks

Where are you guys? Please visit forum sometime so that we can share our frustrations, feelings,

These days I am feeling alone in forum from 2174 MR waiting club.

We are 9 left from NDVO.

Mine has started breaking now, in this last mile additional wait is too much. It will be 11 months soon since we applied, however major frustration comes from this erratic process where nothing is known. These days getting irritated at each and every thing. Don't know how much more we need to persevere.

We started our journey some 3 years ago and this race seems to go on and on. Every step had been nerve breaking. All plans seem to go haywire in this completely unpredictable journey for Canada. Had left a very good job in order to prepare for the migration after we received MR. Now, it's been months and still no sign of any positive result... well just venting my frustration and sharing with you friends, I know there are many who are in worse status comparatively. Wish all best to all...

While we all are waiting for our respective updates from our respective CIC's... I wanted to share something which might be useful.

Below is something I found.

Exchange a driver’s licence

You can exchange an out-of-province licence for an Ontario licence, if you are re-locating from:

any Canadian province or territory
Canadian Forces Europe
U.S. States
Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, the Isle of Man, Japan, Northern Ireland, Korea, Switzerland

Ontario: Link: http://www.ontario.ca/driving-and-roads/exchange-foreign-drivers-licence

Alberta: http://www.servicealberta.ca/1671.cfm

BC: http://www.icbc.com/driver-licensing/moving-bc/other-country

FYI: Similar options may be available for other states as well.
