Forum members,
Everyone who has received MR or is nearing the process of MR, I believe each such individual shall have his/her plans to land this year itself, now that the weather shall start improving after April.
All of us are already employed in relevant professions. What do you feel we should do.......quit our jobs and fight it out in Canada. Or take leave from our jobs for 20-25 days and try and hunt for a job. Even if we have to return empty handed in that case, we shall bring back our PR status with us. Opinions shall vary and both options have their pros and cons. Some may already have an understanding with their employers for a transfer / some may have friends and family who shall help them settle and find a job etc etc.
Please briefly share your thoughts/opinions on this aspect.......fresh ideas shall definitely help all of us navigate the uncertain future.
Regards,
Mav.
Dear, I believe in 'is paar ya us paar' (this side or that side) philosophy. Keeping feet in two boats in not wise in my opinion. However, people who believe in security/safety, would disagree and may advise to try first in Canada while keeping your old job. I am gonna quit (actually already did as there is soooo much to do in the final wrap up process). I am a risk taker (and going to Canada is hardly a risk, it's the dream), but that's me.
Further, 20-25 days is not enough time to even know the surroundings, forget about getting a job. You have to be extreeeeemely lucky to lend a job in such short time. I have been to few countries and it takes few months just to know the area and surroundings properly. You would keep your job if you are kind of unsure about the opportunities at Canada. I think, it'd be better in this term, only you have to be realistic about the fact that they can not absorb a newcomer just on the basis of some foreign education and foreign experience. So, you need to be ready to lower your expectations in terms of your job role and initial salary etc. Whatever it is, you'd be leading a better lifestyle compared to where we are.
