Its really strange that STILL no one has reported about CC/DD charged...... now we are just few days far from completeing 6 weeks time since FSW open and still waiting.... in 2011 they are too fast as first update has been published after 21 days on 21st- July'11....

And almost around same period CC been charged by CIC in july'11.... This time they are taking long time..... This waiting is voting down day by day.... ??? ??? ??? :-\ :-\ :-\

I have gone bald pulling hair... waiting for them to start.. this wait is endless..

I am hoping the 2011 spreadsheet is not a reflection of what is going to happen with FSW 2013! Otherwise, this is going to be depressing news for a lot of us in the hot NOCs. For example in 2011, 1122 filled up within 5 working days. If we extrapolate that to NOC 1112 in 2013, a lot of us will be outside of the cap. However, there was no ECA back then. Also, I hear Chinese applicants need some extra assessment of their education this time around. So I assume it will be at least 10 working days for the hot NOCs to fill up. But what do I know? Happy waiting...

Hany - I repeat that I do not know the cap is filled (in fact, no one in this forum knows)! I was just speculating based on the 2011 spreadsheet.

You think they would pay for express mail? I don't think so. They didn't even apologize for ruining my life. But this is all CIC's fault. They should have announced the credential assessment services much earlier than May 4th.

I think you can force them to do so as this is their fault.

ECA was announced on 17 april , CIC started accepting applications on 4 may . So we had 13 days advance notice for ECA

...that probabbly, the reason CIC is yet to update is because they are verifying ECA evaluations. And if the shoddy service of WES is the same to CIC, then we have a few more weeks to wait.....

I don't think it works that way!
ECA has been introduced, but not limited to, so that CIO does not have to check foreign educational credentials and save processing time owing to their pursuance to reducing processing time compared to earlier programs. Essentially, this has (or as anticipated by the Ministry) been achieved by appointing an outsourced body (WES and other bodies in our case) who takes over one important part of the entire PR process thereby saving CIO of one step.

It doesn't make sense WES evaluating an applicant's foreign credential and then CIC verifying WES's ECA evaluation. Simply doesn't makes sense!

Personally I completed my ECA last year with WES in Dec 2012. I did that as per my lawyer's suggestion. Once CIC announced ECA on mid April 2013, I just requested additional copy which took only one day. I believe there are lots of other member on this forum got their ECA done in advance last year to meet old date.

By the way, still there is no update on my case. I will keep you posted.
Also I wont be able to check status of my DD as I paid application fees (1250$) to my lawyers and they created a local DD in CANADA which has faster/smooth processing.

Totally agreed. My university took 20 days to send my transcripts, and did it just because I traveled 500 km to strangle cry for it. But if the cap was reached before my docs arrive, what can I do? Nothing but wait for the next year's program to open and hope my profession will still be on the list.

They should increase the cap for 2174

Well, if they decide to do it, no one will know. They can process 600 applications and we can only suspect that. They can also process only 200 applications in some professions and say the cap was reached to benefit more crowded NOCs. Who is auditing this numbers? The only thing I am sure is that they don't want to miss the oportunity of having such good professionals as we are.
