Thanks for the clarification iktheone

It was really helpful. And also had the similar experience while applying the jobs.

Apart from that kindly give share one more opinion regarding to the chances of getting

a job in our own field after immigration.
Krutu from 2009 to early 2010 i tried to apply for jobs in Dubai through monster but didnt get even a single reply. One reason is half of the jobs are fake. Even if they are genuine they do no respond cause they simply are too lazy to arrange for a visa and they want someone who is already established in their country. When i went to Dubai later in 2010 i went for a month visit and my uncle there told me that in international job market we are supposed to have local address and telephone number mentioned in the CV. Only then they will respond. Also he told me that the fastest way to get a job is to go to the local news paper company and post in the jobs wanted/offered section. When i did that within a few weeks i got so many calls from employers. So that is the same way it works in Canada. My brother is in Canada and he too told me the same thing. Hope this info helps you.

Thanks for reply Adrenalineforu

While applying on monster.cs or any other job sites should we mention the status of our FSWP file to the employer?
Bcoz most of the jobs openings require PR or citizenship of canada.
Finding a job for non-Canadian applicant is getting tougher by each passing day and ever since the regulations had been made stricter. You should mention your status which shall be considered but you need to have really good contact with the employer and they can make things work for you. In any case, they prefer applicants to have some sort of visa to make things easier but not mandatory. If the employer is favorable they can offer LOI for employment and +ve LMO from HRSDC. They may also bind you in a contract for a few years. Depends on deal.

I have seen few of my friends doing this particularly in software industry which are in good demand.

Hey Adrenaline one easy way like u said is go through the company if u are in Software field. Many big companies like Cognizant, TCS, Wipro etc have branches in Canada or have Canadian clients. But it is very rare that they would give a transfer to the Canadian branch unless u are exceptionally talented. And when it comes to projects with Canadian clients...if your skill sets match their requirement then u are lucky and you might get a long term Canadian project and get your visa processed through company. Going through the company has many benefits like free accommodation, food, transportation etc.. Hope i made sense. :)

It makes sense iktheone but then it is not a big deal to ask these companies to transfer to Canadian branch as I've seen. Rather I would say, these guys doesn't have to be out of the box thinkers or with matching skill sets. It is just the language (java, .NET, etc) they work on and clients they already work for. These guys are already working for Canadian, US or other international clients in most cases; sending them onsite is actually a fair deal which many companies exercise. They eventually gets absorbed there over a period of time. Countries line India, Pakistan are source and US, Canada are sink. This is a common practice but then it is software industry. It may apply to other professions (probably unregulated) but with feeble intensity and may not work that smooth.

Talking about me, I'm already in touch with few employers; two of which are the same employers I worked for in past and from whom I got my referral letters for this program. They do have Canadian operations there, similar to as in India and they know my case already. Things are lined up to much extent, yet they preferred to have me wait for the formal PR process and then things would become easy for them as well. I'm hoping it works out.

Blood work is done at random not on fasting. (My medical exam was at 14:30Hrs)
I don't think it is a disqualifying factor if blood glucose is above normal level. I guess blood check is done for HIV and not glucose.
You may like to confirm it with your Doctor's office where you intend to have your medical exam.

CIC medical exams are pretty simple. They will do urine microscopic analysis for presence of blood, -cyphillis- albumin, sugar etc. I don't think any abnormal figure is a disqualifying factor except cyphillis. They will do X ray for TB. If they find you have dormant TB bugs in your body, medical surveillance is required on landing. If you have active TB bugs, then it is a definite disqualification. Canada does not want immigrants to bring in contageous diseases and spread. They do not want people with terminal and serious diseases to immigrate and drain their economy.

Take it easy, you are not going for a fighter pilot's physical exam!
