See the table from the instructions guide:

Right of Permanent Residence Fee Number of persons Amount per person Amount Due
Principal applicant 1 x $490 $ 490
Spouse or common-law partner x $490

Similar to the processing fee which is 550 per person.
You will have to pay for you and your spouse.

See another example on the UK site: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/visas/fees-frais.aspx

CIC received my PR application on June 24th, 2013. I still don't have a file number and haven't heard anything from them. I applied under Financial Analyst, NOC 1112. Could somebody please direct me when the cap was reached? And what does it mean exactly? I will explain my question.

For example, the cap was reached on let's say September 1st. Does it mean that all the applications sent in before this date will be processed (provided that all the documents are in good order)? Or does it mean something else? I tried to research on my own but got confused. I will greatly appreciate all the help. Thank you.

Re: Medical request and RPRF

Chinook said:
Hi everyone,

For those who are awaiting MR, this is what you can expect.

I received two E mails on 6th Sep one for MR and and the other for Settlement of Funds and payment of RPRF from CPPO (Ottawa) which is my visa office.

The first E mail is on Medical request. It had an enclosed pdf file containing two pages. The first page as quoted below explained how and where I should get my Medical done which has to be completed within 60 days. The second page is the actual Medical Report (Form IMM 1017E protected) with my name and other particulars including bar code of IMIE number printed to be taken to the Doctors office.

The contents of the first page is:

QUOTE:

Medical Examination Instructions

IMM 1017 E (12-2012) GCMS
These medical instructions are being issued since your application has been processed to the stage
where medical examination results are now required. Please read these instructions carefully.

IMPORTANT: You are required to undergo the medical examinations within 60 days of the date of this
letter. Failure to do so could result in the refusal of your application.
The medical examination must be performed by a doctor from the CIC list of Panel Physicians.
You cannot choose your family doctor if his or her name is not on this list. See the list of Panel Physicians to
find a doctor in your area at CIC web site xxxxxxxx
Once you identify a panel physician in your area, book an appointment for your medical examination.
When you schedule your appointment, please ensure that arrangements are made for your chest x-ray
and laboratory tests as well. Once your medical has been completed the doctor will forward the medical
results to CIC.

Any costs related to the medical examination are your responsibility and are payable at the time of the
examination. Should your application be refused following the completion of your medical examination
these costs will not be refunded.

Please bring the following to your appointment:
- The attached Medical Report form (IMM1017E)
- Proper identification (proof of identity must include at least one government-issued document
with photograph and signature, such as a passport or national identity card)
- Eye glasses or contact lenses, if worn
- Any medical reports or test results that you may have as a result of previous or existing
medical conditions
- Four recent photographs (photos are not required if the panel physician is listed as “eMedical
enabled” on the CIC website listed above)

Note: It is important that you inform the panel physician of any previous or existing medical conditions.
Failure to do so will delay the processing of your medical examination.

UNQUOTE

The second E mail is on the Funds and RPRF

QUOTE

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:

· Updated evidence of settlement funds (showing 6 months deposits/ withdrawals history) for yourself

· Payment of Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) for yourself.

You must pay this fee before a permanent resident visa can be issued. The RPRF will be refunded if the application is refused, if you withdraw your application or if you choose not to use your visa. Please follow these steps:

· Go to CIC website: XXXXXXX

· Read the instructions on each page, and click “Continue” to proceed

· Select the “Immigration” link, followed by “Right of Permanent Residence Fee”

· You must pay this fee once for yourself as principal applicant and your spouse

· Enter the number of fee payments (1 or 2) in the box beside the fee of $490

· Click “Submit”

· Proceed to pay your fees by selecting “Pay” and then follow the instructions to pay with a credit card

Once the payment process is complete, the web site will display your official receipt in PDF format. You must send the receipt to CPP-O.

UNQUOTE

I guess other Visa offices may follow differently for verification of funds.
Thanks Dear for sharing it. When they will ask for PCC? after MR?

No idea.
In my case I had sent the PCC along with the application package in May 2013.

So, I'm beginning to get really worried. I mailed my application on Aug 17 but made the silly mistake of not addressing it exactly as specified. Canada Post tells me it was delivered on Aug 22 but I haven't received any info from CIC. It's been 3 weeks now. Does it usually take this long to know if you have passed the eligibility etc screening or could the delay be because I didn't address the envelope properly?

Here's how I addressed it:

It's still far too early for you to hear anything. CIC is still working on applications from June.
