Good news friends

Citizenship and Immigration Canada has announced that the first new permanent resident visas have been issued under the new Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). Two successful applicants were welcomed at ceremonies in Toronto and Calgary by the new immigration minister Chris Alexander and the former immigration minister Jason Kenney.

TIP for those who sent DD

I used to call the bank on phone to check status of DD all these days.
Then I went to the bank directly where I had taken the DD, along with the copy of DD.
the Relationship Manager wasn't able to tell me immediately but after a day of two when I reminded her she called and gave me the news!!

A strike by Canadian visa and immigration staff has continued into its fourth month; there is currently no sign of the dispute being resolved. Some overseas students at Canadian universities are facing disruption to their academic studies because of the delays in obtaining visas. This is a particularly bad time for this to happen as the new academic year will start soon.

This really calls for a celebration. Congrats and all the best.

Hi guys,
I had been calling up both the CIC and my bank for knowing the status. CIC had told that my application reached them on May 31st and not May 28th as I had mentioned earlier!!

And today I got a call from the bank Relationship Manager(RM) saying that the DD has been encashed!!

However don't know when it was encashed.
Secondly I haven't received any mail from CIC even in my Spam.
Can anyone tell me which address the mail comes from?
