I am Hassan and joined the forum today. Really feels good to see everyone networking and sharing their experiences and trying to help each other. I have applied under the FSW category which opened on the 4th of May this year. Applied under NOC 2263 (Inspectors in Occupational Health & Safety). My application was received by CIC on June 6. And my Credit Card has been charged on the 20th of August.

I would request the seniors who are active on this forum to clarify regarding the ECA requirements and interpretation. I have a two year Bachelor of Arts Degree from Pakistan (University of the Punjab). When I received my ECA from WES, it stated that my degree was equivalent to 2 years of undergraduate study. The exact wording on the ECA was : "Canadian Equivalency: Two Years of Undergraduate Study.

Now I have the following question: According to the minimum requirements specified by the CIC, related to education, you must have a "a foreign educational credential, and an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) by an agency approved by CIC to show it is equal to a COMPLETED Canadian secondary or post-secondary educational credential.".

What does the word "COMPLETED CANADIAN CREDENTIAL" mean? Does my degree and the ECA qualify me for 19 points?

COMPLETED CANADIAN CREDENTIAL - The one you obtained from within Canada.

The rule is this;

Education from Canada - Submit Canadian credential (Degree/Diploma/whatever)

Education outside Canada - Submit Foreign credential (Degree/Diploma/whatever) + it's Canadian equivalency assessment.

Does my ECA (which mentions that my 2 year BA degree has a Canadian equivalency of 2 years of undergraduate study) show that my degree is equal to a "COMPLETED CANADIAN CREDENTIAL". Because the CIO/VO might interpret that 2 years of undergraduate study is not equal to a "COMPLETED CANADIAN CREDENTIAL" i.e. a diploma, certificate or degree (COMPLETED CREDENTIAL). And they might interpret that 2 years of undergraduate study is not a completed credential but an ongoing study. I hope you understand my question.
