what do you think about my duties mentioned above?

Like you, I'm also hoping that your job duties (similar to mine) will be accepted by CIC. I'm just waiting to my CC to be charged by CIC. After that most probably I'll be called for an interview. Also I'm expecting email from CIC. But most important thing is CAP. NOC 2131 was closed for long time so there should be many applicants waiting for this opportunity. My app was received 27th May, 23 days after application opening date. Seems to me that I'm already late.

see in @3 days they get 4 applications

even if we think 6(1.5 times than they CAP shows) application a day that is also complete than it will be 150
i am after 39 days so it may @ 250

so i feel no problem

Actually, NOC 2131 is really so wide NOC ... and I don't think that job duties mentioned there cover all the occupations listed.

I am working as "Planning engineer" or "Construction projects Engineer", my job is totally a NOC 2131 job but my real concern is that my education "Architecture" is related to another NOC and this job along with another job listed there "Architectural Engineer", are the only intersections between Architecture & Civil Engineering.

Is my case similar to someone here so we can share opinions?

I think till the end of May, for NOC 2131 it's still safe.


The people applying under this NOC main concerns should be the completeness of documents. Even for the job duties, if you have a civil engineering degree and you are working in any construction related engineering job so you are under this NOC anyway, unless they may consider you are working a managerial occupation, this is the only thing that can be a problem for you concerning the NOC, as i have this concern myself, my job duties are almost all performed by NOC 0711 "Construction Managers" and i am not a manager myself but i am doing the same jobs but in the lower level .

This thread seems to be quiet one. Does anybody know when was the last time FSW was open for Civil engineers. Correct me if I am wrong but I think it wasn't any time recently. This time the civil engineering fraternity was almost taken by surprise is it not.?? and keeping in mind the ECA and IELTS factor... in my opinion NOC 2131 will have been filled only by now... i.e. end of June.

And in agreement with Vats here I say faroquex.... you are fine as as far as application submission date is concerned.

Yes, as many of civil engineers had no hope to be in NOC list, again ECA and IELTS took time
again list announced on 18th april and the first date available for IELTS was 16th May on that day. means the person (i feel most of) who do not have IELTS result (like me) cant apply anyhow before 29th may (IELTS result date) even this can be seen form spreadsheet also. than ECA time is also important means even IELTS is ready we need to do ECA and it took time @ 14-20 days atleast (including courier time)

again 5 application a day if we consider it took two months.
and there are chances to return application due to lot many reasons

anyhow I feel the NOC CAP must be filled within few ways (may be some cap available)

here I found many immgration consultant has started to contact for application

You know what, before submitting my application (probably 17/18 may) I did contact with a immigration consultant. I was surprised that when they refused to take my application because they already received too many applications of NOC 2131 which were about to dispatched that day . Think about all immigration consultants. Be an optimistic is always good but hope we should wait for next turn.

By the way, if CC is charged we are in safe side. so we don't have to wait for long, within next 3 weeks picture will be more clear.

I had my IELTS with me in last week of March but I sent my writing module for recheck. The recheck took 8 weeks and was main cause of delay otherwise my application would have reached by mid May also. But I think it also turned out somewhat good because I was able to avoid submission of older version of forms.
And yeah I bet the 2131 cap is also filled or near to that by now. Hoping that we all make it into the CAP and all the way to a good life in Canada. Can I get an Amen to that?

these agent have a way to try and mould you into begging them for taking your application! If I were in your place I would not pay attention too much to them. Yes the upcoming updates from CIC are a more reliable source so lets keep our focus on that. The picture will be clear in a couple of weeks or so.

I think chance is very less. But application is already sent so hope for the best. My application was received one month before you and hoping for good luck..
