Guys, I have received my Medical Request today and I will be doing my medicals next week. 2nd line did not appear in the E-CAS ...probably will be updated on Tuesday.

There is one confusion from the email that I received from CIC regarding the Criminal record check.........Although, I had supplied the Police Certificate along with the application.......now they want finger printing..........
I am confused by the following statement:

Fingerprint results (RCMP) for your spouse and yourself
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/united-states.asp

RCMP is for Canada and the link provided refers to FBI, United States.

I have asked for clarification but I still believe that RCMP from Canada will be enough.

Saini,

if you haven't been in U.S.A for a period of 3+ months on a continuous basis - you may ignore FBI clearance and obtain RCMP cleraance

Forward the clearance with a covering letter

I have been in USA in 2008 twice for one and two months respectively.

I do not think that FBI clearance is required .......VO might have entered the link incorrectly. .....although they asked for RCMP.....

I think process is simple...
- Go to Police station and do the finger printing.
- They will send this to RCMP (if electronic, it will be better)
- I will get the response and then I will send the response to CIC.

Hello Qurox,
I applied for PR under FSW on april 29, 2013 with arranged employment (positive LMO). Now, my wife has got her study permit for Ph.d & i would like to apply for open work permit on basis of her study permit. but my fsw application is tied up with my current work permit which i got on basis of positive LMO. What will happen to my FSW application if i will apply for open work permit? I received my PER 2 months ago.
Thanks, Gaurav

Thanks Man!

I believe, there may be 2-3 months after Medicals when we may get PR

True.....

I had done Finger printing for FBI too as the cost was less when I did along with RCMP .........I also thought that I might need that coz, I have been there twice for 2 and 3 months respectively.

Now the CPP-Ottawa said that there is no need for FBI ......anyways my other money (charge to FBI and postage ) is saved......

Completed medicals too....... RCMP gave clearance same day ..now waiting for their Hard Copy of the report so that I can send to VO.
Hopefully, doctor will send the medicals by end of this week.

Then Hopefully, the wait be not more than 3 months if everything is good :)

Yes around 3-6 months - depending on batch allocation for sec clearance to CSIS

RCMP hard copy will come in <1 week

Dr. if e-medical enables - third line appears in a week or 35 days after which sec clearance + foss check occurs

good luck mate

Thanks ....

Doctor is e-medical enabled.
We cleared the Criminal check (Electronic Fingerprinting). RCMP sent a note that the docs are dispatched but it has been more than 10 days and I have not received the report. Hopefully I will receive the same by End of this week and fwd it to CIC.

BTW, there is no update in E-CAS :)

your ecas should show up in a week't time

Rcmp hit + foss check - marks Criminality to 1

sec - pending.. -
