No sure why my previous message showed up that way- but it was directed at Majesty- in case it's not showing up.
Hello,
it is not a surprise to me that they are wanting to interview my partner. We are common-law and have some red flags. As I have not ordered the GCMS notes since they decided to put us in queue for an interview, I can only speculate as to the exact reasons why they want to do the interview (The notes may not indicate the reason(s) either).
Our red flags include me being quite a bit older than my partner. We became common-law while my partner was in Canada on a working holiday visa in 2012-2013. He tried to stay in Canada on his own accord by trying to secure an LMO with his last job in Canada (got negative response).
We looked at family sponsorship but at that time, 18 months was the average processing time for Chile, so we concentrated on other streams economic ones like EE as we thought would be faster.
Anyways, fast forward to end of 2015, we decided to apply for spousal sponsorship as his EE application didn't seem to be happening.
We finally got everything together at end of 2016 and applied in Jan 2017. As you can see, we have a history more complicated than most people. During all this time, We have visited each other usually every 4-8 months in the last few years. So yes we have spent a lot of time apart which might raise questions with immigration.
It's been a long road, but hopefully it will be over with soon, with a good outcome we hope.
