hey guys,

im frustrated and need some advice, ive been requested for fingerprint forms and was asked to redo my medical as it had expired. Since sending my fingerprint forms to rcmp and sending my medical to london embassy, i have not heard anything from them at all ... they started looking at my case since january 2012 and was wondering how long the whole process takes?

it's really frustrating that you dont hear anything at all, me and my wife are really frustrated we are dying to be with each other and its really frustrating any advice on how long the whole process takes at all?

Hey Tweety35,

According to the website, London office average time is 7 months, so you are still within the timeframe. In some cases, background check takes a bit longer than others. The positive side is that you know that they are working on your application as you got requested for new medicals, and fingerprints etc... so i suppose you will hear from them soon.
Good luck for waiting!

Contact your MP. State you are a constituent in his or her riding. They are obligated to act on your behalf and the VO must reply within 5 working days to an MP. Ask them to find out if the VO has received your medical as you had to redo it and want to make sure it is there. ( we did that, got a reply in 4 days). Our MPs office has been awesome and gets answers. What they can't tell you is how much longer it will take. But they tell u if docs have been received. :)

hey sweden

yup i read the same, it takes about 7 months so long as you have all the required docusments, which i have given when i first handed the application back in august. The medical redo was because it had expired, and they asked for fingerprints because im guessing that is the new policy and protocol. Yup the positive thing is someone was looking at it, im guessing they will get back to my case eventually because there are others before me thats natural.

JUst hope your right when you say they will get back soon. This is really frustrating.

I'll check out the threads for uk applications.

Print off the clause about MPs from the OP link then show him. He will have to acknowledge the procedure somehow!

No he doesn't CIC is obligated to respond to MPs. MPs are not obligated to contact CIC on your behalf.

MPs are voted by the people so whoever your MP is, should be out there for the welfare of the people in his riding, you would think.

Tweety my husband submitted his prints for the RCMP check on April 25 and RCMP confirmed a few wks ago with me that they still didn't have his information in their system yet. As they say, the RCMP check takes 4 mths. But the best part is this is the longest part, once this is complete, the process will be close to the end. I've learned to be patient during this whole ordeal

Why do the RCMP want fingerprints? Is this for everyone or people who have lived in Canada before? I thought the police check was all they were after? Please tell me we are not going to have to fill in more bloody paperwork!!

My husband lived in Canada previously. If you didn't live here, I don't know why you would need one.

My husband lived in Canada previously as well. He actually lived there from 14 to 22 when we got married and moved to the UK. How long after you getting approved as a sponsor did it take for them to ask for fingerprints? My husband worked in a job in Vancouver where he needed a criminal record check so as far as I know his fingerprints should be on file with the RCMP. I am hoping this is not another thing that is going to add to our time processing of the application.
