hi everyone! my husband application for Provincial Nominee Program (skilled) under employer-driven skilled has been denied. it says there that my husband does not met the qualification that the AB requires for in nominating a skilled worker. particularly in his educational background & his work experiences. he's been working here in canada since april 2008 (22 months) and currently working as a food service supervisor since last aug 2009 (5 months). he has also worked in the same field for about 9 1/2 year in the philippines with a 2 year supervisory experience. but the problem is he's bachelor's degree diploma is not related to food industry and how come they didn't honor his experiences but in fact they only require a minimum of 2 yrs managerial/supervisory experience in a related industry or 4 yrs of work experience in a directly related industry? I'M JUST WONDERING IF WE CAN APPEAL HIS CASE? OR IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY FOR US TO APPLY FOR A PERMANENT RESIDENCY HERE IN CANADA. WE REALLY NEED YOUR ADVICE GUYS!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP..... GOD BLESS.....

Sorry to hear that, did you look into FSW (federal skilled worker) Program. If he is eligible, go a head and apply ASAP..
Good luck

If he qualifies for FSW with at least 67 points and at least one year continuous work experience in the past, he can apply under category 3 as somebody who's been working in Canada for 12+ months.

He could also apply under Canadian experience class after he's been working on a skilled permit for 24 months.

thank you so much for your reply guys! feeling better to know that we still have a chance to apply for PR here in canada. follow-up question; under FSW, is it required that the pricipal applicant should have a degree in the same field? and what if not? and is it allowed to apply in a different stream that you think you're qualify even if you were denied several times in a different stream? does it affect your application? tnx again! GOD BLESS LEON....

For FSW, there is a points system. You get points for your education and points for your work experience. You also can get points for arranged employment, that is if he's on a work permit and gets a letter from his employer offering him continued employment after he gets his PR. I don't think it would pose a problem that his degree is not in his field. I immigrated as an FSW with a degree not in my field and it didn't matter for me. As long as he's qualified to do the job he's doing now, I don't think it would be a problem and he must be qualified since he got a work permit.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts leon. we were just worried about his degree co'z that's one of the reasons why he's application for PNP was denied! anyways, we've tried the point system trial and the eligibility test on their website and he got 81 points so i think he'll gonna pursue his application as a FSW. if you have any additional advice or tips for his application not be denied pls let us know! GOD BLESS....
