From which day is the experience counted for the purpose of express entry ?

Suppose,

A student finishes college on 30th April. Starts working from 1st May, Student Permit is till 31st July, Applies For PGWP on 1st June and Receives It On 1st August.

Thus, From Which Date is the experience counted ?

1st August assuming that's the date this WP application was approved.

1st May, assuming that when you were employed you had some kind of WP( doesn't have to be PGWP) and you were getting paid from the first day it self.

Could've been working on student permit. CEC experience would count from the date their PGWP was issued.

I am counting from the next day I got the convocation, this way it's clear that studies are finished and the person is working FT, be it on study permit or waiting for pgwp.

assuming Student permit, you mean Part time WP that allows student to work 20 hrs/week. If you are employed once you finish graduation and working on student work permit you can use that experience, My friend did the same and he already received his PR. He had 3 months of experience on student permit before he got PGWP and continued working in same job.

Self-employment and work experience gained while you were a full-time student (for example, on a co-op work term) does not count under this program.

Surprising. Did your friend claim CEC eligibility and/or points for 1 year of CWE after just 9 months into that job?

This has come up often in the past and I imagine the debate was long settled on this one.

My study permit was until Nov 2015, I finished studies in Aug and received convocation in Oct 2015.
Applied PGWP in Oct and got in Jan 2016, so from when does my hours start for EE (1560)?

I would imagine that it would be from the date your PGWP is approved. Batman though is challenging that assertion and I need to find some resources to back my assertion.

Please if you can find more info on this situation, a lot of the 1 year pgwp holders like me would clear up the confusion, although my the company hired me straight away after my co-op (not a day lost). I am assuming my required hours are completed.

I think when a person has LMIA the scenario changes about CEC and CWE.
