Being in Canada as a visitor gives you no advantages when it comes to applying for PR. You still have to qualify and apply just like someone who is outside of Canada.

Just to add as a visitor you would only be admitted upto a maximum of 6 months or possibly less on each entry regardless how long your visa is valid for.

It's next to impossible. To get a work permit you need a full time job offer and an approved LMIA from the employer. The vast majority of employers are not willing to go through the LMIA process.
