I did 3-day hotel quarantine. This is the summary of the experience.
- You can't get out of the room (as per rules, but I don't really know whether this is strictly enforced)
- You will get shitty food 3 times a day.
- You will get one water bottle with each meal (500 ml) and you need to either use bathroom sink for more water OR buy each extra bottle (500 ml) at 2$/bottle. (Ridiculous)
- As soon as you get the negative report, you can show it to front desk and get out in less than 5 minutes, very easy process. They are NOT going to refund any money but taxes or something will be saved. I don't know exactly because they initially quoted me 1184$ and it came down to 1137$ when I checked out and was told they didn't charge taxes or something.
- They offer free shuttle to airport again if you want it.
You will be bored doing nothing in the hotel and winter makes it even more depressing but that's about it.
I feel like this is just a measure our beloved PM has taken to show the world that he is doing "something".
To everyone: Please don't justify the price when they charge us 380$ per day, they are just dropping "to-go" style food packets from random restaurant and calling it "food". It will probably cost them less than 30$ for 3 meals and for the security and cleaning they can charge us extra 30-50 bucks per day. It shouldn't have been more than 120-150$. Read about stockholm syndrome, which basically says when you can't do anything about the situation, you simply "submit". If there is enough voice on twitter and other places, at least future visitors will be saved from this mess.
P.S. I stayed at Holiday Inn
