Hello.
I am writing this letter in seeking for advice regarding immigration to la Belle Province.
I am 37 years old and live in Stockholm, Sweden.
I am in a relationship with a woman in Gatineau, Québec, since a couple of years back. We now wish to move together, soon get married and start a family.
We decided to do so in Québec, because the family of my future wife all live in Québec, and I am more willing to relocate and change country. I have a more
flexible work situation - I am working in computers, my future wife is a teacher of French for native speakers, and job opportunities would probably be
more available for me in Québec than for her in Sweden.
Since a while back, I am working for a company based in Québec as a freelance customer support agent. I do this work from my home in Stockholm, as it does
not require that I am located at a specific office. But this also means that I have a job with a company in the province and I am very happy with it.
I have studied a Computer and Systems sciences BA program at Stockholm University, and am now taking a three year full-time program in web programming
that I can take on distance basis while working.
My English level is very high, owing to being educated in Sweden, which teaches English to all students at an early age - I started learning English at school
at age 10. In my studies at the University, English has been used both at lectures, in project work and it has also been the language in which the
overwhelming majority of my course literature has been written. I also use
English daily in my work.
I do not speak much French yet, though I am teaching myself in my spare time and I've made a lot of progress over the last year or two. I also find
myself in the fortunate situation to be marrying a French teacher, and what better when wanting to learn French?
I wish to learn the language not only
because of its use in daily life, but because I have a fascination with the language and wish to learn it for its own sake.
Now we seek advice on the best cause of action to fullfill our goal of starting our family in Québec. How do we go about this?
