Friends,

NOTE: I am a Manual and Automation tester

Scenario:

In the Express Entry profile, I have kept NOC 2173 for two companies in my work history (India). With God's grace, I got an ITA last week for CEC.

In my PR application, I am thinking to keep NOC 2283 for the above mentioned companies as it suits my roles and responsibilities than in 2173. You know that, I will not be able to change the Express entry profile as I have received the ETA.

My Question: Is it advisable to change the NOC from 2173 to 2283 in the PR application even though I have used 2173 in the Express Entry profile? Both are B level, and I don't think the points changed due to this.

Please help me to overcome this dilemma.

You may change your NOC if NOC 2283 better describes your job duties.
Make sure that you write a clear and descriptive letter of explanation as to why you had to change NOC. Make sure to clarify that your CRS score does not change as a result.

Thanks buddy. Phew!
Have you ever witnessed your CRS score got +1 added with no reason? Mine is 438 in express entry profile, but after filling the PR application, it shows 439.

Interesting.
Is there a possibility that some other information were changed?

Everything looks same. I checked it thrice. :(
Interesting. Well, given that all the information are the same except for NOC code, I think you can submit your application with a good LOE. Obviously, your job reference letter should support your job duties as well!

Good luck

Thank you. I will do that.

Hoping the best!

How are you finding that 2173 roles are not matched. My NOC code is also 2173, just wanted to know and correct my NOC code if any.

Are you a software engineer?

Yes, my role is technical Architect. For my old Employer, my role is senior system
engineer. This will come under 2173 right?

In my opinion, yes. But, I would need to your employment reference letter to confirm that. What's more important is the job duties that are written on the letter, which should closely match the job description from NOC 2173.
