I got the CSQ with no knowledge of french....if you answered every question truthfully and have the documents to back up your claims for the points you will be fine.

If the self assessment says you are good to go, then you are good to go. However, it would be advisable for you to start taking some French classes if you want to live in Quebec because a lot of people there do not speak English.

Hi angeleye,

You may possibly get a CSQ even if you don't speak French. The selection is done on a points-based assessment. If you meet the minimum points requirement without speaking French you may still be granted the CSQ.

However, it is advisable if you would take French course before lodging your application. Better safe than sorry! ;) We have the same assessment result from their website. We are no good in French but the results said that we meet the requirements of Quebec skilled workers as my spouse and me are included in their 2009 list of preferred areas of training which we believe gave us higher points even without French knowledge.

All the Best!!

Hi angeleye,

Chemistry (Bach. - 3 years)
For Quebec Degrees:
Principal applicant: 16 points
Accompanying spouse or de facto spouse: 4 points

For Foreign Degrees:
Principal applicant: 12 points
Accompanying spouse or de facto spouse: 3 points

You may want to visit the link below to check the points criteria for other lists of training:

I forgot to mention that if you are serious about moving to Quebec through CSQ program, it is recommended that you enroll for a basic french language course.

My wife and I started the french course and submitted a copy of the enrollment form. I guess the govt wants to ensure that you are serious about wanting to integrate with the society.

Even though i got an interview waiver I understand that the interview usually is split into 2 parts, 50% english and 50% french and all they want to see is that you are putting in some effort to learn french.

Bottom line, try to get started on french, go ahead with your application...this forum and the members will be available if you need any help :D

Goodluck!

2. What level of delf is mendatory or minimum delf level required to apply QSW?

1. exemption frm iinterview is not just on the basis of french level, the immigration officer decides whether to waive or not the interview.

2. you can apply for QSW with zero knowldege of french, hoever its better to learn it if you want to settle in quebec.

You can do the self assessment on the Quebec immigration website and see if your education etc. is good enough that you have a chance without French. However, while you are working on your immigration, you might as well use the time to study French as it will only help you and not hurt.
