Hi everyone,

I created my profile for ee, while CRS was calculated my points as 432, the profile has calculated it as 447.

When I looked at details, I see in the profile I am getting 15 points for "French Proficiency or Bilingualism" however for French test I have selected No for both me and my spouse. Do CIC give points for this irrespective you take a French test or not?

This is a technical glitch in the system. I had 15 points added after ITA from french language. Trying to sort it out now

So you mean that 15 points got added to your account and it should not have been? While I have raised it with IRRC what should I do in case I get an ITA?

Yes my express entry profile does not have those 15 points. 30 days after ITA these 15 points got add up. I confirmed its a technical glitch that has happend with quite a few people in the past 2-3 days. Just trying to figure out on how to proceed. Maybe it will fix by itself but I'm not sure

Hello,
I am currently experiencing this same issue. I have been scared. I am hoping to get ITA today at 443. But all of a sudden a few minutes ago I got 15 extra points for French pushing me up to 458. I don't know what to do.

Thanks a lot for information my friend!!! I will wait for the reply from IRCC on this glitch. I was excited about getting the points because it got into the range of cutoff, however wanted to be cautious as it seems to be a freebie and I thought Bilingual would have other options other than French. I will since I have raised a ticket today.

Hi,
How do you get points for Bilingualism? In my case I uploaded my French test results yesterday however I did not get any extra points for Bilingualism (only the normal points for second language were added). Thanks.

This may be too basic, but did you achieve NLB 7 across all four skills (so at least 12 points, or 3 points for each skill) in French?

It is unfortunate for me I guess. I achieved speaking 9, reading 8, listening 8 but writing 6.I got 13 points for it in total. If it is calculated on average basis, this will make my score 7.75. However it looks like my 6 in writing is preventing me, it is nearly impossible for me to get a better score on it due to lack of practice.

The reason I raised this matter is due to stating Proficiency or Bilingualism, I speak both languages and my score is ok. It looks like what they mean is Bilingualism and Proficiency, not "or".

This will also eliminate chances of getting an invitation for Ottawa Bilingualism program :(

Hi all

I got CLB of 7 in listening and speaking and 8 in reading and writing for French language but only got additional 12 points. No point for being bilingual. Can someone help me with what the problem could be?
