Freelance Work Experience counts??

I have a bachelors (4 years study) from a Canadian university plus a 1.5 years diploma done in Canada. I also have mostly freelance work experience (graphic design...so it is skilled level), which is part time but over 2 years, plus about 6 months full-time skilled work experience. This amounts to over a year work experience after studies, but im just not sure if they count freelance as experience for CEC. Also, how would I be able to prove this experience, etc?
anyone heard of this situation or been in the same situation? i would love to know. thanks.

No it doesn't count.

Freelance is the same thing as self-employed, which is specifically excluded from the work experience requirements. Unfortunately, you'll have to be employed full time for one year to qualify.

I don't think its counted.
The work experience has to be salaried job; cannot be commisioned-based either.

If you cannot even prove it... then just forget about it... it's not worthy... just work full time for another 6 months

hi jes on,could u help me i applied cec june 29th 2012 that is my second application to cec my first application got rejected because not having full time salary i have been canada from 2007 it was rejected november,in may 2012 i calculated my past 3 years salry in the t4 its above 55000 i am getting 14$ per hour when i divided by my last three year salary by my hourly wage, i have 4000hrs now in june do i eligible please reply thank u

I'm not sure what that means. There is no salary requirement for CEC class. But there is a requirement (assuming temporary skilled worker stream) that you complete a minimum of 2 years of full-time skilled employment (or its equivalent.) Full-time is defined as 37.5 hours per week. So you have to be employed a minimum of 24 months and work a minimum of 3900 hours. It sounds like you did not meet this work requirement.

Part-time work is anything less than 37.5 hours per week. Are (or were) you a part-time worker?

Again, salary is not relevant.

If you have worked a minimum of 24 months and 3900 hours in the past 3 years in a skilled occupation, you meet the work requirement.
