Hi laklak,

I am presently staying in Canada as well, according to cic website, we don't need police clearance from Canada UNLESS the officer will request for it... but we still need to do the finger printing from OPP to get PPC from countries we stayed in for more than 6months.
Hope it would help

We have just received our Permanent visas (skilled workers) and need to land in Canada by August. We will be In Canada for around 3 weeks initially and then back to UK to finish up affairs.
We have several questions:
1.Can we land in Montreal even though we intend to love in Ottawa. We have family we would like to visit in Montreal for a few days before we travel to Ottawa. Our intended residency was Ottawa.
2. Which documentation do we need to provide in order to do this?
3. The PR card will not have arrived before we leave Canada so how do we get back in at a later date?
4. Will our normal travel insurance cover us for medical or do we need to purchase additional insurance locally.
5. Where do we get b4 or B4 a forms from
Any help gratefully received

Hey all

I am currently 6 months into a 1 year working holiday visa from Ireland,i am living with my aunt here,i got here on 1st Sept 2009 and got a job on the 9th September as a retail supervisor in a digital photolab in a large retail store. I would love to be able to stay in Canada once my WHV and the shop are willing to give me a job offer in writing is finished but to apply for a Skilled worker VISA i know you need to have worked for the same company for a year but my VISA runs out 9 days before i will have been there a year?i had a similar position as a retail supervisor before i came over here. Do i have any hope of being able to stay here?i met a nice girl here and play alot of sports as well as volunteering as a soccer coach here and would love to be able to stay.

Any replys would be appreciated

Thanks
D
