my uncle with his family came here as a visitor and they applied for refugee. They r not real refugees; they brought all fake documents and they are abusing the Canadian system. Any ways, I got to know that he is using my address and my info as relative ( not sure why he needs it; Someone told me that it will help his refugee case as I’m his nephew). They been to European countries and even was planning to apply for refugee there. But Thn they got Canadian visit visa and planned to do the fraud here!

I don’t want to involve in anyone’s fraud. And I Don’t want him to use me as stairs for such kind of fraud case. What can I do. I need my name and address out of his application. I refuse to call him relative as he is such a fraud!!! Can I do that? If so how? Other than reporting him to CBSA, is there any way I can tell the authority eg. CBSA/ IRB that he used my address without my consent or I refuse him as relative. ( my apology if I’m misinformed; don’t know much about how refugee claims work)

Please advise.

Other than reporting him, all you can really do is let CBSA/IRCC know that he is making a fraudulent claim if they call you. Really, it won’t really effect you.

This is from the immigration website. Based on the information below, reporting to CBSA is the only option you have.

How do I report immigration fraud?
Call the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Border Watch Toll-Free Line at 1-888-502-9060 to report:

  • suspicious activity at the border
  • a marriage of convenience
  • a person who has given false information on any immigration application or
  • a person wanted on an immigration warrant
What you tell the tip line is private. Your identity stays protected.

Simply put this forward to the authorities that your name and address been used without your consent and should be removed. But when you say his claim is fraud with fraudulent documents, then I guess you should have proofs for that. Just my opinion though.

However, out of your obligation to Canada as a PR or a citizen, you must report any immigration fraud which is brought to your knowledge and help keep our country safe. Thank you for considering and reaching out here, the abuse of refugee program has to end![/QUOTE]

Thanks for your reply; I’ll definitely call CBSA. Not sure if it will ever end. My dad been to back home this year to visit and he was shocked to see what’s going on there. Every family is receiving flyers which states “ easy way to settle in Canada, get a visit visa and go there and claim refugee.” And they r helping to get the visit visa. Ppl who has little travel history to other countries are getting easy visit visa here. So sad that ppl r taking advantage of this.

Will they usually calls to verify the “relative”? I just heard from someone, if they don’t have any relative here, they will be questioned why they didn’t stay at the other countries they've visited before Canada and the chance of getting accepted becomes lean.
My uncle has visited most of the European countries multiple times with whole family.

This is really true.. I have seen.. got to know of many fake refugees being accepted. It's like a cartel involving people at different levels inside/out side Canada. That's why I lost faith in the refugee system here. The system has to improved a lot to fill the gaps. Then we all can whole-heartedly support real genuine refugees.
