I asked this question yesterday but never received a response. Does anybody know why there would not be any information on a FOSS record where a file has been transferred from Vegreville to a local office. The only thing in the record is complete for service and status pending. There is a lock in date registered for March 12, 2012 but there is absolutely no notes of any finding or issues related to the sponsorship and PR application.

Thanks.

They could have blacked it out so you cant see it. They often will do things like that. :(

Do you have any idea what the purpose of that would be?

sometimes the notes are there but the privacy division ommites it.......if they find the info will breach the security or has info about how they will investigate u......i think you shld contact your mp and find out whts going on and then contact privacy commissioner of Canada's office and they might be able to get the info out for u if u think the info shld be given to u,,,as many people have had success in the past......if u have any more question just send me a message as your situation is like as ours, but your file just got transferred we applied 2 years ago.

Hi Arjun,

I myself think it is ridiculous to allow people to order notes that they wait a month for and then send them out with nothing in them. Can I ask you what is going on with your case. I see you had an interview, did you get your AIP? Our file was transferred to the local office at the time AIP should have been obtained. Once I realized why the CIC may have transferred the file I sent in two lots of additional evidence supporting this relationship and added information about my previous marriage which was a spousal sponsorship back in 1998 that lasted nine years until my husband died of natural causes in March of 2006. I imagine that relationship has to be investigated just to make sure there are no outstanding debts or no inconsistencies in the relationship. In the end, there is really no reason for me to question the file transfer, I understand why it happened, but if they investigated it at the time they transferred the file then it would actually support my current case. Back in those days, spousal sponsorships were for 10 years. I worked three jobs to support my husband until he obtained work permission. The problem right now is that the PR application and all the supporting evidence is sitting on a desk somewhere unopened. I know this because inside one of the envelopes is a release of information that hasn't been applied to the computerized file yet. Every time I call the CIC they tell me my husband has to call because there is no signed release on file, yet it was sent well over a month ago. The irony is we just want an answer so we can start our lives, if not in this country, then I will immigrate to his. The only difference now will be that he will go home and work and I will stay here and finish up what needs to get done until they allow me into his country which is Australia. I have met some wonderful couples on this forum that I feel extreme empathy for. I am saddened by the abusive way some have been treated in interviews. I wouldn't believe it except that I have heard several reports of it.
