Still the online calculator need to update by CIC and showing old calculation of 1460 days
Maybe as per other posters have said assent was only granted Monday and no firm implementation date has been set other than fall 2017 and we are still in summer. Just need be patient given although some dates are showing updates on various pages that is likely just a planned coincidence nothing to do with C6. After all why would anyone waste time updating anything in anticipation before a bill is passed just in case, that would be a real waste of taxpayers money.

Foremost: PATIENCE!

Secondly, imminent changes in the application form will reflect only changes which have already taken effect. Such as the removal of item 10 in the October 2016 version (regarding intent to reside).

Beyond that, but importantly, changes that will be made due to the implementation of the 3/5 rule will NOT be available online until much later, probably not until the day the changes actually take effect (or perhaps not even then, for a day or so . . . last time changes of this sort were made, the old form was no longer available as of the last day before the new requirements, and the new form did not become available until AFTER the day the new requirements took effect).

In particular, it is NOT likely the form or calculator for the 3/5 rule will be available until, at the soonest, the day the 3/5 rule actually takes effect. That will be a date to be announced, to be some time this fall. Many if not most Canadians consider fall to begin after Labour Day. More likely date for 3/5 rule coming into force is sometime in October or November.

Several people have said the 3/5 rule will be implemented in the Fall. Is this an expectation or was there a government announcement or something to that effect?

Thanks,

Snoopy

Hi there,

I am trying to download the forms which one of the guy explained above to save as document and then open it. I did it and it was okay. However, when I filled up the firs page and saved it then the page got distorted and some wordings were missing. Does anyone have the similar situation and share the solution if you have?

Thanks,

Quick question: I just mailed my application (June 22nd, received today in NS today, June 26th). Unfortunately, I had everything prepared and ready to go a few days ahead of time...and hence just missed the form change. (I filled in the October 2016 form.) Given the immaterial change between forms, will they return my application? If so, should I redo and resend now?

Thank you for any insight.

I am not an expert and not qualified to give personal advice . . . that said, actually the IRCC website still has the 10-2016 version of the application form, so no changes actually made as yet. So as long as you followed the instructions, are qualified, honestly and completely filled out the application and submitted other documentation as instructed, all should go well.

It warrants noting, though, that generally once an application is sent off, there is not much if anything the applicant can do until the application has been formally opened and either put into process or put in a queue to return as incomplete. Practically this means that once it is mailed, wait for the AOR to do anything unless IRCC contacts you otherwise. If an inordinate amount of time has passed, well beyond the time line in which others report getting AOR (for applications made around the same period of time), then it would be time to call the IRCC help line with a query about the status of the application.

The website form is updated to June...not sure exactly when that happened though. I guess I'll wait on it then. Thank you!

There are two options:
1- Your application will pass the first check and will go through next step which is sending you the AOR.
2- Your Application will return and IRCC will request for up to date application form.

Frankly speaking no one can assure you that your application will be accepted, but most likely it will be accepted since there is no mandatory requirement to have up to date form.

My guess your chance %70 Accepted %30 Returned.

Good Luck!
