Hello.
My name is Jeff. I live and work in Japan. I need some advice/guidance in filling out the IMM 5481 form.
I am currently unemployed. I have constantly worked when in Japan, but the contract for my last job as a translator ended on May 31st. I worked for this company for 1.5 years. Before I took this job, I worked for five (5) years translating and teaching English for a small rural town. I have been doing freelance work at home, but I would like a steady income again. I have been hired at another job starting August 31st.
My question:
For question 2, should I choose UNEMPLOYED and then state how I have been supporting myself in a letter? Should I mention everything I wrote above? Plus, should I state that my wife has been taking on the load since I have been employed (the wife has a good career as a teacher)?
Thank you in advance. Any comments/advice will be greatly appreciated.
Take care,
Jeff
