Form IMM 0008

Just a quick question. On the IMM 0008 form, Question 3 asks to indicate the total number of family members included in your application. This is a little confusing. I've included my spouse's parents and 6 siblings in other forms (Additional Family Information). Would the answer be 1 (just my spouse) or 7( my spouse plus her family members)?

I'm fairly confused so any help is much appreciated.

if applying for spousal sponsorship.....the sponsor and any Canadian citizen or PR dependent children is not counted and should not be included in the count.....number of applicants on the application = Principal Applicant (PA) + Accompanying Dependents + Non-accompanying Dependents

Indicate the total number of family members included in your application. This includes yourself and any family members, regardless of whether they intend to accompany you to Canada or not

your spouse parents and family members are not included in the count.
