Hello,

Regarding Form IMM 0008 Question 12: Previous Countries of Residence: During the past five years have you lived in any country other than your country of citizenship or your current country of residence for more than six months?

Does anyone know or have experience with this question to know if:

Is this 6 months consecutively, or in total over the five year period?

Also does visiting as a tourist, count as living in another country?

Thank you greatly to anyone who can help with this!

Consecutively, and tourist or not, if you've been in the country over the 6 month mark, you have to get a police certificate for that country. According to the government, if you've been anywhere past 183 days that's considered "living".

Thanks for the quick response!

Do you know this to be true from experience? I only ask because I have read otherwise.

Thanks again!

6 consecutive months.

Yes. It doesn't matter what your status is; if you are in a country for 6 consecutive months or more, CIC considers you as living there.

Hi friends kindly help

I am working in Oman as a Engineer with Residence Permit. In this section should i select 'Foreign National' or 'Worker' or 'Permanent Resident'

Hello :)

Did you get your PR? what did you eneded up doing about 6 months?

I had been in another country but I had been in and out for one day from that country? I had 90days on one entry allowed so technically in did not stay 6 months continuously.

Any idea if I will need PCC for that? or Do I need to mention that in Question 12 of IM00008?

Thanks :)
