Is the word "Importer" in the form stand for Permanent Resident in our case?

Hello, I am a Canadian Citizen by birth, I sponsored my husband and we will be landing in a week (I have been living outside of Canada with him for more than a year.) We are confused about the B4 Form.

If I am bringing gifts home to my family from my husband's country and it is in my suitcase do I have to fill out a B4 Form? Seeing as I am technically not an Immigrant.

All the is in my husband's suitcase are clothes he owns from his country and 2 pairs of shoes.
In my suitcase is less than $80 worth of souvenirs, clothes, and shoes I owned previously and in my carry on 3 pieces of jewelry and my laptop which is from Canada.

Is it even necessary to fill this form? And I was wondering about our wedding bands and my engagement ring if I am wearing them on me physically do I need to declare them too?

Thanks for any help, Just confused because I am landing with my husband who is the PR and I am not sure if my luggage will count ?

Hi Seniors,

I have following queries regarding landing, it would be appreciable if i can get prompt and positive reply from you guys especially those who have landed in last 1-2 months:

1. I have received the goods to follow list and goods to accompany list in excel sheets from one of my friend, iam confused that whether this shall suffice or i have to fill any specific form having specific format for the accompanying goods/ goods to follow. if it is, then it would be worthwhile if someone can share the link of it and any sample filled. Further form B4/B4A is no longer available for download

2. Further, i was told by someone that i need to take pictures of jewellery items, So i wanted to know that this would be pictures of jewellery items from accompanying list or goods to follow or both. I also wanted to know that where this picture shall be used. Further, any more pcitures of other items like accompanying goods/ goods to follow is required or not.

3. Shall i be required to fill the form in advance for PR card or it would be given to me at the airport. Further, shall i also be required to keep the pictures as specified for the PR card as it may be required at the airport for the PR card application?
Did you get any responses/clarifications in this regard? Please let me know as I am really confused that out of bsf186-eng & bsf186a, which form to use for "Goods Accompanying" and which one for "Goods to Follow".

You will have to fill two separate forms for accompanying goods and goods to follow.

On 'accompanying goods form' you will check the box 'NO' corresponding to 'Goods to follow'

To clarify any confusion, you can read the instructions on the form, it says right there on the top of Form BSF186a:

Goods imported with you at the time of accounting should be listed separately from goods which are to follow. Please use separate kist if any goods are to follow

Hi again guys...

I still haven't heard back from you seniors about my question..Posting again below

Question to seniors out there - I need help!

I arrived in Canada 4 years ago. I submitted both my Goods Accompanying List upon landing and Goods to Follow List once my "first" batch of GTF has arrived a couple of weeks later.

I knew there would be another batch of Goods to Follow, but didn't know what exactly I was going to decide on getting - a friend was going to help me pack away the remaining items while I'm here giving directions over the phone/camera. For that, my Goods to Follow list that I had stamped only included the first batch. However, I did have the "Goods to Follow" box ticked.

When my second batch arrives, can I take the previous GTF form that's already stamped showing the GTF box ticked along with 2 GTF copies of the new batch? Will showing them that ticked GTF box exempt me from duty/taxes regardless of the fact I didn't actually have the list because I simply wasn't decided on what to bring next?

Please let me know..

Thank you so much!

Rose

Hey guys.

I'm gonna land in Canada with my wife in the beginning of November.

1. Do we need to fill one form for each one of us, or only one for both of us (I was the main applicant and she was the spouse)?

I understand that the "Goods to Follow" list is important to show them what I already have and is arriving after me, and it will probably be something like home appliances, books.

2. Should the "Acoompanying Goods" list show everything I have with me (i.e. 20 T-shirts, 5 pairs of shoes, etc.) or can I list only the most important stuff (i.e. 1 laptop, 2 iPhones, 1 microwave, etc) and list everything else in a general way (i.e. 1 suitcase with clothes)?

Thanks

We landed on Sept. 13th and we just made our own B4 form listing all of the things in our suitcases and the values.
We were only bringing 2 suitcases and carry on. Nothing coming after us at a later date.
We landed first in Toronto airport, nobody even asked us if we had a b4 form. They gave us a small declaration card all it asks is the value of everything in your suitcase. I believe as long as it is under $800 you won't be taxed on it. Then they asked if we had any items coming to Canada at another date. If you do you have to tell them then and there. If you don't and your items arrive you will be taxed on them.

I believe as long as you are not bringing anything major or shipping other items at a later date the b4 form is useless. There are enough papers to fill so I wouldn't worry about the b4 form if you are bringing simple things home.

I have a query. The website says you need to declare funds over $10,000. What if you do declare them do you get taxed on it? The funds are wedding gifts that I plan to carry.
