Form 5481 Seems to Count Spouse Twice... Box 4 & 5a

Hey Guys, Form 5481 counts the sponsor in box 4 once. Then asks for the number of persons included in box #3 IMM 0008 which says "Indicate the total number of family members included in your application. This includes yourself and any family members, regardless of whether they intend to accompany you to Canada or not." THIS counts the sponsor AGAIN! So box 7 ends up saying 4 people but I only have 3 people in the family: the spousal sponsor, husband and child. Ideas? Thanks!

no, for application purposes, the sponsor is the "sponsor", not a "family member". by family member, they mean people who are not canadian citizens that may or may not be accompanying the applicant to apply for pr (ie: a husband or child). this is referring to applications where families are applying for PR together. this is not referring to the spouse sponsor. the sponsor is not counted in "box 3".
