Hi, I am sponsoring my spouse and I sent my package over to CPC-M on Dec 16th.

I am realising now that I did not write her name (by hand) in the space provided in the final portion of the IMM 0008 where it asks for her consent to release information to the province for purposes of immigration and refugees protection act.

She did sign and date the form alright but forgot to write her name.

Now I am very worried that will this cause CPC- M just to return the entire package back? I will lose 4 valuable weeks if they do so for such a small thing.

Pl advise.

If they don't like it, they very well may return the entire package back, but I don't think there's anything you can do about it until they do. If they can clearly determine whose signature is there, they may just accept it the way it is.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately your reply is a little vague.

Also, how does CPC M operate? when they return the package, do they actually wait for the 28 days that is posted on their site, open the package and return it or do they do some quality checks as soon as they receive a package and find something missing and then return it. I hate to have to get back in line for another 28 days if the former were the case.

Unfortunately, I don't think that they will even open the envelope until 3-4 weeks from now. Once they open it, they process it right away, as I understand it. Once they start working on it, it can be processed fairly quickly in most cases but there is a 28-day backlog of other applications to be done before they even look at yours. Certain problems might not be found during the sponsorship phase of processing. I'm not sure how much they look at the applicant portion before sending it to the office that looks after that.

I know that this doesn't sound like good news, but I think that's how it works.

Rogerset.
Dont worry about that, Just pray for that and take it easy. If CIC return back the forms to you then after correction you send it back t the office , But i think this is just a typing mistake so take it easy.Best of luck.

IMM0008 is part of the applicant portion of the package. So as I see it, one of 3 things will happen:
1. CPC-M will not even notice the missing name (I think for applicant documents they just check for signatures and ensure main forms are all included), will approve you as sponsor and forward the app to outland visa office. The outland VO once noticing the name is missing, would then get you to simply re-do just the IMM0008 form and send it in.
2. CPC-M will notice the name is missing, and get you to re-send just the IMM0008 form, before they approve sponsor and forward file to outland VO.
3. CPC-M will return your entire application due to the missing name, and make you re-send the entire package and start from scratch for processing time

Of course 3 is the worst option, but it has happened. Other times they just ask for the incorrect form re-done and you keep your place in the queue. It really depends on the individual person doing sponsor approval and review of your app at CPC-M. There is not much you can do, but just hope 1. or 2. happens!

Hi Rob

Your response is perhaps the most detailed and most insightful of all. I also sincerely hope that they go the route mentioned in your option (1).

Thank you once again.

All other senior members,

Pl advise on my predicament.

1. they don't notice
2. they notice and return the whole thing
3. they as for re submission of the form (LIKELY)

in my case i forgot to sign one page, they noticed and told me to resubmit that form only.

i wouldn't worry about it, i'm sure they will just ask you to resend that specific form.

Thank you so much for your detailed response,

So are you saying that, CPC M does not go through the prinicpal applicant forms that much in detail and they just do a cursory glance of it and that they pay more attention to the sponsor forms and documents?

Seems so, our documents got there Oct 4 i think (Mississauga), and then it was forwarded to the local V.O. about 6 days later.

That is fast! I mean CPC M moved on your file in just 6 days. I am seeing people here like me sent their package like on Dec 16th and I have not even heard a word about it. Wow.

Can you pl comment on this?

not sure, we had things organised nicely. Solid case, had to re-submit one form, but that was asked later at the local office. I think the mississauga office only checks the sponsor part, and does it quickly.
