Thank you all for the input. My spouse qualifies for express entry so I won’t be sponsoring her. The lawyers are just helping me to make amendments. I had a conversation with an immigration officer from CIC and they said they can make the amendments.

What are you talking about "amendments"? Amendments to what??

Nothing will reverse the misrepresentation you have already committed. This can't be amended and any advice you got otherwise is simply wrong.

As long as your spouse qualifies for express entry, then most likely the misrepresentation will not be discovered by IRCC.

I want to know just how someone "forgets" that they're married? It says very clearly on the COPR that you MUST inform CIC if there is any change to your marital status or family composition, so please explain how someone forgets that they have a spouse/child/etc.

The same way they "forget" they're married when the CBSA officer asks them at the border "what's your marital status?" :D
