Hey everybody. I am a little.. lot.. sad today.
My embassy asked to the passport on september this year and new medical. i had the new medicals and leave my passport at the embassy the 22nd of september since the we heard nothing from them. my husband wrote a mail and they answered that the process was standidng still cause we didnñt pay for the right of permanent residency. this answer was on the 2nd of december and right away we payed it. but after that nothing.

is that a huge mistake¿... is forgeting to pay the RPRF going to slow down our process and our timeline is gonna get much longer?

it really really hurts to be away from my husband.. Can´t imagine the feeling when christmas and new years comes...

i really didn´t reaceived any notification from them about the payment that neded to be done and they hold my passport for so long without notifing us.

Some people choose to pay it later; yes it does delay the processing (some people have reported a delay of a couple of months).

Did you fax or email the copy of the receipt of RPRF to your visa office? If not then do so right away.

Take heart. If they asked you to pay the fee you are almost done. But if you look on the CIC website it says that if you choose to pay the fee later - which is totally fine - it can add approximately 2 months to your processing time.

I know that another 2 months is going to feel like an eternity, but since they asked you to pay it - really you are almost done.

Congratulations!

Depending on the VO you're with, a girl on the Buffalo thread just recieved her PPR a little over 5 weeks after paying the fee to Mississauga.

Ours was only delayed a few weeks, you should be ok.

Don't worry soon you will be get request latter THAT ASK UR SPONCER TO PAY UR RPRF AND SEND ONE COPY TO MISSIUAGGA AND ONE COPY UR CONCERN EMBESSY.

THERE IS NOTHING TO BE WORRY BUT YEAH UR CASE WILL BE LITTLE SLOW DOWN NOW LIKE A 40 OR 50 DAYS AS EMBESSY WILL BE WAIT WHEN MISSIUAGGA WILL BE UPDATE THEM THAT U HAVE PAID UR FEE.

Thanks everybody for your helpful answers.

We payed the fee the 2nd of december we received a letter at my husbands address the 21 of december saying that the fee was payed and the receipt mailed to my embassy,

My status changed the same day as well to decision made.
On the 24 of december i received and email from bogota embassy were i am being process saying that the passport was already send to Ecuador´s embassy (were i live) already . Now i have to wait for the holidays to finish and might hear something about it!!!
Nice christmas present by the way :)

Good luck for everybody and Happy holidays!!!!
