Hey waiting84,
I made the same mistake of not putting UCI in my application for both my wife and me. I filed it on 25th Nov 2013. What has happened to your application?
And do I need to do something to communicate the same to CIC.

UCI is optional, Because a lot of people has it, new applicant's don't.
However, you 'forgot' to put UCI, that means you have it.

It should not be a problem. All you can do is wait and hope for AOR (which should be coming soon for u).

Everyone who applies under the CEC should have a UCI, as your UCI is printed on your work permit and
work experience is a requirement :)

Second that.

Yah Ofcourse they have UCI printed on wp.
But if you mistakenly leave it blank, it should not come back to you. Because this information is already available to CIC.

Any one who has ever applied to CIC (for permit, tourist visa, immigration) - has an UCI. But UCI are easily misplaced.

For example: John visited Canada in 1998, now his wife applying for PR - What is John's UCI?"

That's why CIC asked to leave it blank, if they not know.
That's why I said it should not come back to him.

John wouldn't be eligible under CEC rules ;D You should know better than that... LOL. Merry Christmas.

Thanks Guys...

1- I have attached older document checklist which was on cic site before oct. change. Technically there isn't any problem but does it matter.
2- Haven't mentioned NOC code in employer referral letter, it is one of the change done required in november modification by cic.
3- How CIC verifies the stay in canada?

That was n't the point. All immigration applicants now use the same IMM form.
So it does not matter, if he is under CEC or FAM.

UCI should not be of such importance, that the application is returned.

Mentioning NoC was a new addition to the checklist. CIC has asked employers to use NOC code on the letters (a must have).
Regarding the verification of stay in Canada, are you asking about if your legal or not? The copy of your permit will show the length of stay.

Yeah, about the eligibility with repect to stay. Actually, My first work permit was for duration 15 aug 2O1O to 2O Feb 2O11. Before getting this wp expired I applied for the extention. But, I got the extended workpermit in June and the date mentioned on it was from 14 June 2O11 onwards. I just wanted to know that if the duration for which I didn't have any workpermit[as per dates mentioned in extended WP] but I was working there legally because I applied for the extention, will be counted or not.

This thread was started a year ago and waiting84 has already got pr - I don't think he's on this forum anymore
Rather than revitalize old threads, you are better off starting a new one

My wife and I applied for a visitor visa while we were engaged, it was rejected and we were given a UCI number. we then got married and applied for a PR, which we are waiting for approval and we forgot to that by doing a visitor visa, we were given a UCI number. the PR then gave us a new UCI number. My part (Sponsor) has already been approved and we were recently sent an email saying I am approved as a sponsor and our file is now being sent to the principal applicant's country. Do you believe that will cause a problem?

Hi

I have re-applied for study visa for Canada but I forgot to mention my UCI number what I should do now?
