If I were you I'd make a copy of the old PP and send it to the CIC office you sent the original application too. Include a letter explaining what happened and mention the date when the original application was received.

CIC won't open your application for at least 6 weeks - check their site to see what 'received on date' documents they are now opening. At that point in time the agent will either send your entire application back or if they are kind send a letter asking for the missing bio data pages. Sending the bio data page on its own now is IMHO not helpful as they have no file to relate it too. I doubt CIC will take the bio data page and track your incomplete file..they haven't got the resource and its your job to make sure the application is complete.

Maybe send in another application if your 1095 minimum days are ok - the 400 fee bucks you pay may get refunded if they notice as they will there is a co-current application on file and ask that you choose which one to abandon. It saves the stress of the will the agent re-send/ won't they above especially if the back and forth paperwork gets caught up in the pending application requirements or your 1095 days counts gets affected.

Send them a photocopy of your old passport. Write them a letter and mention the date, time and the person who signed when they recieved your application.

Hey everyone,

Hope you guys have become Canadian Citizen by now :).

Can someone please help? I sent in my application on May 1, 2015. It reached CIC today. I am afraid that I missed to attach page 5 of the application.

Hey Karan and Windsor_PhD, what did you guys do for the documents you forgot to attach to the application? Did you send a copy of your passport separately or resend the entire application again? Did someone accept it? Or your application was sent back incomplete?

I am eagerly looking for help on this. Can you guys please advise?

Thanks a lot!!

They send applications back pretty quicky (within 3 weeks).
So if your application is deemed incomplete you'll receive it back by June 1st. If you don't see your application back in your mailbox by that time, then you are fine.
Is it the signature page that you forgot to include ? If Yes then they'll send it back to you this month, just check your mailbox.

Hello AsianIndian, thanks for your prompt response. So grateful :).

I called CIC just now and they said it can take upto 6 weeks for them to review and return the application. However I noticed that April 2015 apps are moving at a fast pace and within the 3 weeks time mentioned by you. If that happens, I agree that's great.

Regarding missing page, I think its "page 5 (where you tick mark for elections and CBSA).

I am contemplating one of these options. Any sugggestion?

1. Send a copy of the page 5 with a cover letter today
2. Resend the entire application today
3. Wait for 3-4 weeks before taking any step

With the new rules on the horizon starting June 2015, I didn't want to take a chance.

Thanks a lot again!!

I suggest option 3: wait.
Checking the completeness of applications is the first thing CIC does. Even before sending out acknowledgements (AOR). So if AORs take 3 weeks now, then returned applications should take much less (on or 2 weeks, not sure).
In fact, according to what I have observed here, this is how they do it: they open all the applications and check if they are complete. If they are, then they put it on a pile, and then when they are done opening they start sending out AORs of the pile of complete applications. If an application is incomplete, it is returned right away (no pile or waiting). That's why returned applications take much less time than AORs.
The new law won't kick in before around June 20th I think (go to the thread that relates to that to be sure), so you still have plenty of time.
If you are really eager, then go with option 2. Option 1 is an absolute NO, do not even think about that; it will further mess up your file. Remember they open tens/hundreds of applications every day, not sure if they can easily put 2 envelopes together as part of the same application despite the cover letter.
If I were you, I would wait. Your application will be returned this very month. You only loose a few weeks (3 ?) of processing time... When it's back in your mailbox, resubmit it with the missing documents/pages. They will provide you with a list of all missing pieces.

Because the new rules are likely to come into effect soon (most people are thinking June or July), I would not be inclined to wait too long before sending in a new application. Along with the application, send a letter stating that you sent an incomplete application on XXX date, and are now sending a complete application to be processed in its place. You do not need to pay the fee again. Just include a copy of the previous payment.

Thank you AsianIndian and AlphaZip,

I truly value your replies.

I am little confused between sending application again today or waiting for a few days to hear from CIC. The only thing I am concerned about is if sending two applications would create a confusion at the end of CIC. I would put a cover letter but still. Have you ever seen anyone doing that? Have you ever noticed anyone's experience in a similar situation?

Thanks so much for your help.

Best,

Best,
I wouldn't necessarily send a new application today (no one can guarantee when the new rules will take effect), but I wouldn't wait more than a couple weeks. Many people report that when they call CIC about an application that appears to be lost, the agent tells them to send another application. So, I would assume that the receipt of duplicate applications is a common occurrence. As long as you tell CIC in your cover letter which application you want processed (they won't process two), there shouldn't be a problem. But, yes, that would be great to hear from others who have sent in a second application.

Best,

I suggest, you send by registered mail the copies which you missed with initial application along with a letter explaining the reason for sending them.

You got nothing much to lose, may be it will be accepted. If not you are already prepared to have your original application sent back.

Thanks a lot friends!!

I called CIC again and agent endorsed as to what is told by AlphaZip. He said that I can submit another application and add a cover letter indicating that I would like to have this app processed instead of the earlier app.

He suggested not to send missing page thou as they can't add any new documents to an existing application.

I would be eager to wait from others experience in a similar situation before taking any step. I am impatient to send another application today but kind of not sure if that would be appropriate. May be my application is complete ( I am almost sure I did send the complete app but not fully confident).

What do you think? Shall I send one today? Or wait for 2-3 weeks?

Thanks so much everyone for your help.
