Foreign Work Experience Concerns

I need a professional opinion here. I have a current ITA with a score of 485 (which includes points from my foreign work experience). However, I do want to make inquiries in relation to my 1 year non-Canadian work experience/ transferability skills.

My non-Canadian reference letter states that I started the job on May 1st, 2011 till the date when I obtained the reference letter (which was on April 12th, 2012); I do not currently possess any proof of work till the end of April 2012 as I only found pay stub copies for January, February, and March 2012.

Does this still count as 1 year since the reference letter was signed in April 12th, 2012, or 11 months (less than a year)? If I decline the ITA and re-enter the pool without any foreign work experience it will give me a new score of 454. The CIC system didn't ask for specific dates in the month though.

Please advise... Today is February 8th, 2017. Just for reference. Thanks.

1. You need either an updated reference letter that you shows you worked for the full year, or your experience will be discounted as not being 1 year and you won't receive points for it.

I was wondering why the system didn't ask for specific dates, as most jobs could be for 30hrs or 37.5hrs/ week; thus the total hours in a year would differ, and most possibly be greater than CIC's 1560hrs per year if the foreign job was 37.5hrs/ week as it is in my case.

That is a question we have all been asking since the launch of EE. It seems to be designed to "trick" applicants into applying too soon.

No, you are confusing "full time" with "full time" : ) There is NO DIFFERENCE between 30 hours per week, 40, or 80 hours per week. You do NOT add up hours, it is simply "full time." In other words, 11 months at 30 hours per week is exactly the same 11 months at 40 hours per week.

The only time you add up hours is if you work part-time (fewer than 30 hours per week).
