Re: FOR THOSE WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CANADA.........
There's nothing to be worried.
Do you have any city in mind e.g. Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver?
If you are looking for jobs as Rest. Mgr, I think Toronto is pretty good. It has lots of local and international resaturants. I am not an expert but I think, in Toronto you have more opportunity than any other city. You can check the following links and personally visit the restaurants to check if they are hiring:http://www.restaurantguidetoronto.com/

you can go to the following link for rentals. http://www.viewit.ca/?gclid=CL7j7tW0obECFQZtKgodd1NrDg
If you are looking to rent a place, my (personal) opinion is not to go for any long lease. There are lots of private rentals (I mean rentals that are not done through binding contracts) available in Toronto; usually the landlord takes 2months rent and you can live as long/ short you want. This way, if you find a good job far from your current place, you can give the landlord 2 months' notice and can move out.
Also, many home owners rent out their basement for bargain price. You can find them in local newspapers and in corner shop listings. However, during winter, basements can be colder.
My suggestion, do not worry. In Canada, everything is in order. All you need to do is keep cool.
