For PR, will relatives living in Canada give you any additional points?

Hello,

Wanted to know if you can state you have relatives living in Canada already (Dad’s or mother’s siblings) when making the online application. And will it provide any additional points for Permanent Residency.

Yes, but it depends on the relative.

You can get 5 points in the 67/100 FSW Selection grid for uncles/aunts/siblings/niece/nephew/parent/grandparent.

Then, once you've qualified for FSW, you can get 15 CRS points.. but only for a sibling of either the Principal Applicant or their spouse.. The other relatives do not give extra points here.

Sorry a bit of confusion in understanding this. Why do they offer additional points of uncle/aunt as a relative to begin with then?
