About his PR application, twice syang na-deny and we don't really know why. Ang employer kasi nya ang nagaaply since they nominated him. And lahat naman ng requirements, pinapasa naman namin na tama at walang kulang. Ewan ko ba, lahat dinadaan namin sa employer nya pero sana ayaw na namin mag-focus dun since we have one more option, Canadian Experience Class. We will go for that as soon as matapos ko na ang SOWP application ko at nakarating na ko dun. Hopefully, early next year, if God willing

I am so glad lang talaga na kahit super dami naming challenges, we still never run out of options. God is good pa rin And reading everyone's posts here gave me renewed hope that all will be well. Thank you everyone sa lahat ng info here!

May I share... I was about to get MERCAN's assistance until I found out this forum- that I do not need to spend lots of dollars. Advice ng mga ibang nakakuha na ng visa dito sa forum, reserved ko na lang daw sa airlines ticket yun pambayad ko. Application filed on my own with the guidance of the members here in the forum. Tama sila...easy to apply and accomplish everything. The hardest thing is WAITING. I guess, kung hindi ka pa nakakacommit sa kanila, you still have time to backout. Marami ang tutulong sa yo dito. Napaka-accommodating nila. Pag may tanong ka sa forms, may mga sumasagot dito kahit paulit-ulit ng naitanong. I salute them all.

Hi SPMH! Yun nga din sabi ko kay hubby, parang kaya ko naman ideretso esp since madami naman akong nababasa sa internet, esp itong forum na ito, very helpful indeed. But gusto kasi ni hubby, e. I think, natakot na syang madeny ulit like what happened to his PR applications. And for him, mabuti na daw na may nag-guiguide esp since both busy kami sa mga work namin pareho. Pero yun nga din sabi ng friend ko na nasa Saskatchewan na, may step by step guide naman daw. No need to pay an agency, sayang nga daw money. Pero sige, try ko sya ulit i-convince. Anyway, lagi ko naman chinicheck ang forum na ito for new updates, nakakatuwa kasi..

Hi everyone! I am so glad I found this forum, it is both helpful and inspiring. Sayang lang, now ko lang nabasa mga ito coz me and hubby have been trying to find ways to be together. Hubby's been working as a Line Cook in Alberta for 4 years and he has tried applying for PR but has been denied several times din. Too bad lang coz we never heard about this Spousal Open Work Permit e di sana dati pa kami nag-apply since Skilled Worker naman sya Imagine being apart for 4 years! Grabe hirap nang pinagdadaanan namin, not to mention the disappointments and frustrations each time we get news na denied ang PR application nya. All these years, yun lang ang inaasahan namin coz we thought it's the only way we can be together in Canada. Until he inquired at Mercan Canada and they suggested the SOWP program, nabuhayan ulit kami. The thing is, now that we found out we are qualified, expired naman na ang Work Permit nya In fact, implied status na sya coz wala pa yun LMO nya and expired na WP nya. Haaaayyyy...

But the good news is, another employer offered him a job and he has an LMO na, he just needs to apply for a new WP and like what everyone said here, nasa 68 days na lang thru paper application ang new WP. So while waiting, I've already prepared all my docs but we have paid Mercan to help us with the application process. They said, kahit wala pa daw new WP, basta we can submit the receipt na may WP application na, okay na daw yun. Anybody here who submitted this before? Also, I just don't understand why some of you submitted mga proof of funds and pictures or videos with your husbands/wife. Kasi sa list of requirements from Mercan, wala naman mga yun. Need ba talaga? I am scheduled to submit all my requirements next week, after ng long weekend so I am quite nervous at baka kulang at mali mga docs ko. I would appreciate any help from anybody here.

Hello welcome sa forum... sayang sana di na kau kumuha ng agency kasi even thru this forum maguiguide ka naman ng mga applicants/namin, for your questions regarding the documents submitted na di naman included sa mercan requirements actually the documents to be submitted depends with the Visa Officer na hahawak ng application but since nababasa namin dito sa experiences ng mga applicants na nauna samin that CEM requested additional documents so most of us if possible to submit those requirements upon submission ng application forms sinasabay na namin para they won't ask na additional requirements na possible magpa delay/magpatagal nga processing....

if you have questions just post here na lang... good luck and seal your applications with lots of prayers God is good and for sure in His time magkakasama na kau ni hubby mo... Keep the faith gurl...

just got my SOWP extension together with my hubby and kids....thank u Lord! ;D ;D ;D ;D

share ko lng ung timeline namin...

arrived BC last july 31 under SOWP with 2 kids
applied WP extension via online last Aug. 1,2011 (w/o LMO yet)
Employer appllied LMO - August 10 per HRSDC AOR
- we sent a copy of HRSDC AOR to CPC- vegreville last week of Sept, i include a cover letter stating we are just waiting for the confirmation but the file number is indicated in the AOR
until now we haven't received a copy of confirmed LMO but was advised by employer last week that it was already approved and in the mail
last Oct. 20, we phoned CIC and was advised that WP ext is already sent to us
today Oct. 27, the postman hand over to me 4 brown envelopes...and got IT!!!!! it's our new WP. ;D ;D

next week, we will already prepare BC PNP docs for our nomination....hope God will still guide us as always....

hope above infos might be of help to those of same situation...

pareho tayo sa mercan din ako ng paayos ng papers. ung mga video and pictures, submmit lang nila un kung newly married sila but long time enggaged na. Ung proof of fund naman kaylangan tlga un kc dependent tyo ng hubby natin and to prove sa embassy na kaya nila tyo buhayin even wala tyong work dun. mas ok kung pareho kyong my proof of funds.

Hi, sis! Like you i hired a consultant to help with the application. Pero sayang kasi ngayong alam mo na itong forum na ito naka-save ka sana ng malaki. Basahin mo lang mula simula yung forum na ito andito na list ng kailangan mo. As for proof of funds, hindi ko alam kung bakit hindi ka pina-submit ng Mercan. Pero since they are your consultants, then you just have to trust them. May remittances ba na hiningi sayo? As for the pictures/videos... depende kasi yun. How long have you been married? Those of us who had been in bf-gf relationship before our spouses went abroad were the ones asked for those evidences. So if you've been married long na... don't worry. If not naman, don't worry pa din. hehe. advance lang masyado yung nabasa mo. It depends on the Visa Officer if he/she wants to request those.

Hindi ako sure dun sa submission ng application without the WP. It's because our visas are automatically dependent on the expiration of the work permit. I don't want to scare you pero baka depende na yan sa diskarte ng agency/consultant mo, which is Mercan. I know reliable naman si Mercan.

I suggest you go over the posts here mula simula and take notes. Tapos you make follow-up questions nalang after. God bless!

Sis, Mag 3 yrs na din kami next yr April. I was asked for pictures kasi I was sent a questionnaire. If you read what I told Kenj, nirequest lang ng VO yun. So don't worry in advance or wag ka na masyado muna mag explain. It's either they will send the questionnaire kasabay nung AOR and MR mo or right after medical mo. Pwede ding hindi ka na hihingan. Pero yun nga as i've said, pareho tayo 2009 kinasal.. hiningan ako. Medyo nainis ako nun kasi sana early na hiningi hindi yung nagpalipas pa ng weeks bago ako hiningan ng love story namin. hehe. No need to print lots of pictures. Importante lang is yung out of town trips nyo, wedding pics with witnesses, honeymoon trip pics (if you still have e-ticket or receipt from the hotel pwede mo din i-submit yun). One step at a time... don't worry too much. dito naman kami to help.

By the way guys... implied status na kami. Pero aapply nanaman kami ng isa pang set ng WP for the new employer naman. And uh... monday ang next ultrasound ko. relate ba? hahaha... malalaman na namin kung boy or girl!! woo hoo!

Hi Nigella15!!! Welcome to the forum. Sis, we have same concern as I have also been waiting for the new WP of my hubby. If you re-read my posts, I have been consistent in telling that my SOWP would be submitted in December 2011 considering the CIC processing times for new WP under paper application.

But, just a while ago, I phoned the CEM Visa Inquiry and was able to speak with a certain Ms. Cassandra. I inquired exactly our situation and here are some details of our conversation that might be of help to us (Me, You, and Jewelle):

Me: Can I submit my application for SOWP even if my hubby’s WP is still on process?

Cassandra: Yes, you can, you just have to attach a letter of explanation. But it’s up to you whether to submit it now or wait for the WP of your husband. The decision however depends on the VO who will handle your application.

Me: What if the new WP arrives few weeks after I have submitted my application to CEM?
Cassandra: You must submit the WP as an additional document. Call the courier service for pick up of the additional document.

Me: Do I have to wait for communications from CEM before submitting it?

Cassandra: Not really, you can send additional docs even without any communication yet from the CEM. However, the VO will request for additional documents when he finds necessary after you have submitted your application and additional documents..

Hope this helps us decide. When did your hubby apply for WP (new employer)?

In my case, I have already renewed my passport last Thursday and I will receive it by November 15 (rush processing). Yung old passport ko will expire April 2013 pa, pero pinarenew ko na para mtagal validity so until October 2016 na pag nareceive ko yun new. Kaya much as I would like to submit our application now, I can’t do so without the passport. Hehe passport naman naging dilemma ko now. :-\ :-\ Pero okay narin kasi we expect hubby’s new WP by 3rd week of December, kaya kung mga November 16 kami magapply, mga more than 1 month pa lang yun application ko sa CEM. Baka kasi pag matagal pa release ng WP ni hubby tapos inapply ko this early, mapilitan ang VO na magdecide kahit wala pa WP as an additional document, maging ground pa for denial.. Kaya wait wait padin ng konti. Let’s ask for wisdom and His guidance. I-weigh mo din yun situation ...Taska lahat ng friends natin dto matutulungan tao sa documentations.
