I strongly suggest you secure medical insurance for your stay in Canada. Getting sick is expensive. You'll only get Healthcare benefits once you are able to start/find work (or after some provincial eligibility waiting period that could take few months). So while waiting you need to be secured. Knowing your spouse is a Student,I assume his/her school fees covers medical insurance already.

I have experience using Blue Cross and Green Shield Canada. I tried doing some search and seems the other popular ones were Manulife and Sunlife. Hope it helps.

Thank you so much! I’ll get/avail the Visitors - Foreign Worker Plan of Blue Cross.

Hello, planning to apply for Open work permit/Common Law and bring our son 12 years old. Husband has a temporary working visa and got approved last March 1. Question: Do I need to prove na currently working or skilled worker or di na ba nagmamatter yun. For online application sana and tanong ko din if student visa ba sa child or visit? Ilang days/months processing? Thanks

Oh I see. Yung sa amin po kasi everything was processed sa company ni husband since intra-company so wala po kaming na-submit sa VFS. Thank you for your inputs.
