hi everyone!

I was reading all the posts and I am hoping someone can give me help or answer my question..
I am just in the process of researching about Canada since my hubby will be applying as Cook/FCA thru an agency in the Philippines. He is just completing all his requirements before submitting it to the agency. Hopefully he will be able to get the job.

My question is, if ever my hubby will be able to get a work permit, am I qualified to apply for open work permit so we could go to Canada at the same time? The agency told us kasi that they are not processing couples as workers daw, so naisip ko baka pwde pa rin ako maghanap ng ibang work thru a different agency or baka mag qualify ako dun sa spousal open work permit para dun na lang ako mag apply ng kahit anong work. Sana po someone can share some info..

Im really praying that the Lord will make a way for us to find a work in Canada.

Sis, first step for Spousal WOrk permit you need to research your husband's work category if it is skilled NOC category level O, A or B.


"To be eligible for an Open Work Permit, the spouse or common-law partner of a foreign temporary worker must demonstrate that:
the principal temporary foreign worker has work in Canada that is at a management level or a job in a professional occupation or as a technical or skilled tradesperson. In other words the skill level of the principal temporary foreign worker’s job must be level 0, A or B according to the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
This skill level requirement does not apply to principal temporary foreign workers who have been nominated for permanent residence by a province (provincial nominees).
the principal temporary foreign worker is permitted to work in Canada for a period of at least six months."


Kung mag aapply ka naman sa ibang agency, you need to make sure you are in the same area as your husband. So that will be a little difficult kasi lalabas pa na mamimili ka ng location diba? If ever na skilled ang category ng husband mo, you can apply naman for spousal right after he gets his LMO and work permit. I just don't know how big the bank accounts or funds will contribute to the application. Hope that helps you a bit.

talaga dito ka rin batangas sa lipa kame eh pero mailing address namin is ung address ng parents namin sa manila... don't worry kadalasan naman talaga ang lam ko after a month ung MR it just so happen na meron na kame PR application kaya me record na kame sa immigration kaya siguro me MR agad for sure parating na rin ung MR niu, btw san kau dito sa batangas ska san ba sa canada husband mu?

hi jeckay!taga Lipa ka rin! pareho lang pala tayo tagarito! hehehe... ah, bale ung sau sa address ng parents mo sa Manila pinapatak, gnun ba? ang worry ko nga rin, dapat pala nung pinick-up ung application namin naadvise ko ung courier na kpag walang tao dito sa bahay dun nya iwan sa haus ng nanay ko, kc madalas walang naiiwan na tao dito.. hayyss.. sana naman until friday may mareceive na kmi... ang hubby ko naman sa Alberta din, sa Lethbridge naman, dati nasa Calgary xa, pero after 2 months nya dun ntransfer na xa sa Lethbridge.. sana tuloy tuloy na ung sa inyo, kmi naman basta maghihintay pa rin, until May next year pa naman ang validity ng WP ni hubby kaya d pa ako masyadong worried.. basta pray lang tayo ng pray.. hi.. help nyo po sana ako.. my problem is ung work permit ko was expired last august 8 then my lmo was expired last may30 but before it expired i submitted it already sa immigration last may 17.. i was just confused if valid pa din ba ung lmo ko at makakakuha ng work permit khit expired na..pls help..

Wednesday (August 10,2011) - Dumating yung visa ko sa house and then my husband already booked me a flight and then
Thursday( August 11, 2011) - Kinuha ko yung ticket ko sa PAL
Friday (August 12, 2011) - Fly fly na going to Canada

Bale sinakyan ko Philippine Airlines (Manila-Vancouver) and then Air Canada (Vancouver -Calgary)

and then dumating ako Vancouver ng 4pm tapos may four hours ako na waiting time para sa flight ko sa calgary.. upon arrival ko sa vancouver pinresent ko yung introduction letter tapos pinapunta ako sa immigration para issue nila work permit ko.. tinanung nila ang mga following questions

1. What is your husbands work?
2. What is the birthdate if your husband?
3. When will be the expiry date of his work permit?
4. Where does he live?
5. Have you ever applied for a travel permit before? What happened? (in this case before kasi ng spousal application ko ngapply ako tourist visa pero nadeny)
6. Until when will you stay in calgary?
7. Is it your first time to come to canada?

After ko nasagot yun issue nila work permit ko tapos yun ngready nako for calgary connecting flight

kanina ngapply kame ng alberta health card sarado pa office for SIN kasi saturday ngayon sa monday nalang kame apply nyan ;D

thanks so much for the tip.. this september na kasi sked ng hubby ko for interview sa agency.. sna mkakuha agad cya ng LMO.. then cguro magtatanong na lang kmi dun kung ano ang options namin..

wow enyale! goodluck sau jan,, i'm happy for you! keep in touch na lang... maraming salamat sa pagshare mo ng experience mo,, kami naman waiting pa rin sa MR.. 1 month na xa nung 12, at hanggang ngaun wala pa.. pero sana until Friday marecieve ko na rin xa.. sayang kasi ung panahon, magbabakasyon c hubby next month at pinagpepray namin n sana bago xa bumalik sa October me visa na rin kmi para kasabay nya na kmi.. @enyale, THanks God nandyan ka na, what about enyale your money did u have to declare pa how much money you have, will they inspect your handcarried bag pa ? he he he curious lang ako san ka pala sa calgary ? wala pa visa namin magiina, sa aug.18 , 1 month na since our medical, so beg. Monday waiting na ako hayyyy, sana dumating na cia agad para makapagpabook na si hubby, my kids still go to school pa up to now,,,,,, ingatz ka and enjoy !!!

Hi. I'm back. Sumagot na po CEM sa akin nung Aug.13, 2011 at di daw sila satisfied na nam-eet ko requirements nila kaya narefuse application ko at isa pang rason ay dahil sa lagpas 6 months na yung WP ng husband ko. Yung isang pa ekis nila ang di ko gaano clear sa akin. Heto pa ang nakasulat:
You have not demonstrated the you come within the exceptions under section 186 of the regulations exempting you from the requirement to obtain a work permit or that your employment in Canada comes within the exceptions to section 203 of the regulations. As, a result, your offer of employment must be the subject of an economic effect determination before a work permit can be issued to you. Your employer in Canada should contact the local office of the Department of Human Resources abd Skills Development Canada to begint his process.

Bale hayan po yung isang rason nila. Nabasa ko sa iba dito na kaparehas lang ng mga ipinasa nila ang binigay ko. Ang pinagkaiba lang po ay wala akong kasama anak sa pag-alis. Ano pa ba need ko mga documents para pag lumabas ang bagong WP husband ko eh dagdag ko yun? Heto nga pala mga pinasa ko sa CEM: Application for Work Permit, Family Information, Work Information Form, original passport with photocopy, 2pcs.passport size pictures with name and my birthday sa isang pics, NBI, TESDA Certificate in Caregiving, Birth Certificate and Marriage Contract, CENOMAR ( NSO Copy po yung tatlo ), DepEd Certificate re: Form 137 & Diploma with Red Ribbon from DFA. Sa husband ko naman na documents ay: Payslips, T4, Present Certificate of Employment, Work Permit and Photocopy of my husband's passport and Itemize Checklist.
Sana po matulungan niyo ko sa dilema kong ito. Gusto ko na po makasunod sa husband ko eh. Wait ko na lang bago WP ng husband ko at apply na lang po ako uli sa November o December. Please help me. Xencia na kung mahaba tinodo ko na po. Marami pong salamat and God bless you all!!
